The thing is, the defense isn't bad per say. It just needs to tighten up and stay consistent.
We may have won but man were painful to watch in are own D Zone, can we stop flipping the puck out unless its the PK? Odds are 90% of the time your just gonna turn it back over and can we change this dump and chase crap, its getting annoying
Totally agree!! Never mind all the other teams, work on your defense and win games! Can’t do much about the goaltending so concentrate on whole team defense
Last night was the first time I truly got frustrated with the defense. Up until this point, there was always a bright spot that I could point to but I didn't see any of that. They were loose and honestly, they looked just straight up unmotivated. I still think the ship can be righted and we can have a good showing for the season. We're going to need some help getting into the playoffs with how tight the race in the East is going to be. Nothing less than 90 points this season and that means 25 more wins.
Why would anyone want to see a group of soft, clueless frat boys get their asses handed to them by a top seed from the East?
This team does not make the playoffs. Take that to the bank.
Is it me or does this team consistently looks like it’s just not properly prepared to play these games ?
The problem is drafting. Are high picks are not performing in the minors. 51 picks and only 2 playing on the team. Hate to say it but maybe Draper needs to go.

I'd rather see D-Mac coming back to play then continue watching Maata, Petry and Holl wave bye-bye to forwards at our blueline. We need guys made of spit and grit to make it painful for other teams to enter the zone. Radko Gudas, Nick Deslauriers and Chris Tanev come to mind. Sprong & Compher do a decent backcheck but Perron, Copp, Raymond and especially Rasmussen need some time in the gym.
Watched the 1st intermission then had to hit the sack (live in the Midwest). Saw the highlights on YouTube and it was a goal-for-goal game up until the last 2 minutes. Granted, the defense could've been better but it was great for the Wings to land another win in regulation.
Detroit needs to play well or else ? What happened? to a team that was playing so well ?

McCarty wrong about them figuring it out. There are plenty of veterans and scorers. Lalonde and goaltending is the problem

Signing Kane was not a priority, nor was a smart move. The Wings didn't need to sign another forward. The defense and goaltending is still lacking, and are the biggest question marks on this team… It's to the point that depression laughing at a 4 goal lead happens
You cannot expect to rely on scoring 5 goals to win the games. They need to figure out defense.

I was at the game last week in Minnesota, most embarrassing game this year
December saw the team slow down and fall out of sync. Were lacking consistency cycling players into the slot and, at the same time, secondary puck support in the d zone has slowed down. In both cases, even when we win battles on the boards, its 50/50 if we connect on the pass. Theres a good chance this is fatigue. Fingers crossed that a lighter schedule gives the team a step.
