I don't think any of these guys deserve to be in the all-star game. Sure they have their moments in the game but that's all it is moments. Let's face it Vancouver had better hits, better puck possession, better quality shots, and played a faster game than the Leafs. Sure the Leafs had zone time but what did they do with it? And Nylander what is up gets 11.5 million a year scores 2 goals then disappears…come on man you're better than that.

Fire Sheldon and bring in Doug Gilmor from Kingston and you will see the big change that this team needs. Also, get rid of T.J. Brodie and find an NHL level goalie.Without these major changes, this team is not going anywhere!

I wonder if these “troll” comments are a good representation of leaf fans? Pretty toxic fan base if you assume these comments represent most of the fans…I’m a die hard leaf fan and yes it’s frustrating being a leaf fan at times but I chose to follow this team…if ppl struggle with it so much then go follow another team or sport. Be grateful we have the best goal scorer in the world and some amazing talent that we take for granted. Why share your negative arm couching opinions that just spread more negativity into this fan base . Playoffs is all that matters so in my opinion it’s a good thing we are in a slide and facing adversity. Just building for mental pressure come playoffs….if we coast all reg season is that a good recipe? …What should help is getting Woll back and establishing where we are at with our goalies. And as an entire team continuing to work on our D structure and playing a full 60. That is up to the players to do. Firing keefe I don’t feel is the answer, but I might be wrong . Don’t forget that most teams playing Toronto want to beat us so bad. They know we are skilled and know that it has the biggest fan base so the players are amped slightly more….So let’s get behind this team win or lose and be thankful for this country and team! Go Leafs Go!!
If they could clear the puck from the d-zone when they get the chance consistently it's a different result. Sometimes its ok to fire it off the glass or flip it to centre without making an all-star play.
Jones .714 on 21 shots & Demko .913 on 46. The 1st goal can't happen. 3 failed clear chances, then Jones fumbles a slow, weak shot along the ice, paddle down, but fails to cover it. That allows the shift to continue until everyone's gassed & Hoglander with a stoppable backhand. The 2nd goal, poor D-zone coverage & another stoppable shot. The 3rd (Garland) goal was a weak back-check by Bill, a miss by Brodie to stop the pass-out (Garland didn't miss). Nylander's too close to Jones who really should have had that one too.
Bertuzzi, 6 goals, 19 points in 44 games is remarkably inept when it comes to puck handling & shooting accuracy. In the 1st, from 5 feet out, he gets a clean look with 1/3 of the net open to Demko's left, but he fires it right into Demko's stomach. I thought Matthews was mishandling the pill most most of the game & on the PP along with almost everyone else. 0 for 5 on the PP is also a big reason for the loss. Zone entries were bungled by pretty much everyone. Despite allowing 4, Demko was way better than Jones. That's basically the story.
Please for the love of God release Marner, he is too good to be on that team, he would flourish anywhere else. That city is killing that star and its BRUTAL to watch, he was easily the best Leaf on the ice effortwise (as he usually is).
Same story from Keefe. Blah blah blah…. we lost but we were the better team. IF YOU WERE, you would've won.
At what point does Treliving begin doing his job as general manager. Is it not a requirement to try & field a winning team, or is this entire Leaf organization just interested in filling their pockets?
man we sure could have used that Zadorov creature. Treliving needs to get us someone scary for defense. Brodie just doesnt look the same and Gio needs to be our number 7.

Bring in the difference maker, fire Keefe and bring in Graig Berube so accountability is made priority. Why the hell is Gio playing over Lagesson? Why has Brodie not taken a turn in the press box for all his fked up play and missed coverages in the defensive end? Jones gets scored on by 2 guys from their knees and lets a flutter shot travelling 2 kmhr and all he can say is their shots found the back of the net and ours didn't? WTF Jones, your the freaking goalie, STOP THOSE SHOTS OR RETIRE!!!!
Life long fan here, are they trying to stay positive or not admitting that the defensiveness is almost gone and not consistent. 4 guys can’t score all of the goals . Please trade and stack the first line stop looking for the 3rd man for the first line you all ready have him (88). I’m sorry FYI , j.t’s knees are gone he can’t keep up . 🤯So the dirtiest team in the league (the oilers) picked up Perry, a player the Leafs could have really benefited from, yet TreeDying lets another day go by while doing jack sh!t to make the Leafs better. The days of being able to get rid of, and get a good penny for, JT, and Marner and/or Nylander to build a proper team around Matthews has come and gone, now all the NTC's have kicked in and Brad has backed himself into a corner.
Look, this season is a right-off now anyway. The Leafs should just be sellers come the trade deadline and try to salvage something for next season. It's been 10 years and Mr. Shanaplan with his micromanagement style has clearly NOT worked.
If the owners/Tanenbaum were smart, they'd get rid of Shanny, Treliving, and split up the core-4, then get a proper President that isn't a control freak who will let the new GM do what he was hired to do, and try to build a proper team around Matthews before he becomes just a has-been (we all know how the Leafs love their overpaid has-beens! Let's not wait that long, please!🙏🏻).

The Toronto Maple Leaf's are like Stan Mikita's Chicago Blackhawks, full of talent didn't play as a team and only won one Stanley cup. You build a team from the back end forward. Brenden Shanahan needs to go.

IMO, all the talk of the Core Four has probably got a lot of guys in the room a bit sick to the stomach, especially when they aren’t held to the same level of accountability as others. They won’t say it out loud but I bet they say it amongst themselves!
