    Sabres should be looking for a new coach after today and this season so far! @topshelfhockey will we see it this year?

    I think the Isles roster is constructed in a flawed way (more Lou's fault than Lane's). That being said they have shown the ability to get leads and play some decent hockey, but they have no mental resilience and always look ready to collapse out there. This might be an ok move to squeeze the last bit of juice out of this roster and get into the playoffs, even if it doesn't make them a contender.

    How many former coaches are the Islanders paying giant pensions to now, I wonder. They could probaby start a seniors hockey league out of them.

    As an islanders fan I can tell you this is exactly what the team needs. A guy with fire and accountability. This team has none, and needs that fire that it did when Barry was coach.

    Good move by Lou. Habs should have hired Roy, when they had the chance. Islanders still need a QB for their powerplay

    I have been an Islander fan since 76 and have seen a lot of people come and go. This is just the second time in all those years where I am scratching my head and saying….wait a minute! The last time was 2006 when they hired Neil Smith( We all know how that went). This time however I am asking….what else? This move( And don't get me wrong I have a great deal of respect for Roy and all he has accomplished) just screams wait for the rest of the details. There is definitely more to come and who will replace Lou has a lot to do with it, I will wait until all the blanks get filled in before I make up my mind.
