Ersson has been the number 1 goalie THIS SEASON and I think Torts would tell you the same. Ersson was playing better, the team played better when Ersson was in net.
Stevie Wonder can see that.
Hart has played solid, but not as well as Ersson.
Time for Ersson to buck up and shoulder the load of being the number 1 goal tender.

I like having Peterson up because he’s going to be sitting mostly and id rather have Sandstrom down playing heavy minutes rather than riding the pine.
I think keeping Sandstrom up for that extended time was to hopefully keep him around rather than lose him on waivers possibly because they thought they might need him for depth given the Hart situation. Which proved to be correct thinking.
Worst case scenario….Hart is lost because of this investigation. But they have Sandstrom to be back up next year with Kolozov (sp?) coming over. Hopefully Kolozov adjusts quickly and becomes the goalie we all hope and jumps up to the flyers quickly giving the team a solid duo again in short order
The culture change…. Doesn’t matter that older players won’t be around much longer…It’s about having that culture established so that when younger players come up they come up into it and know that they’re expected to maintain it.
It’s supposed to be an ongoing cycle not just for the players currently on the team.
I agree with Russ. I like Sandstrom more than Peterson, and how they have shoved him into the background has hurt his development. I like Hart, but he's going to be out for a while. I would have liked to have Sandstrom ready to step into the number 2 spot, but he's just not ready. The team failed the player. Torts failed the player. Torts loves his vets, and doesn't want to coordinate with LHV. While he can squeeze the most from his players, in the end he's a short term solution to a larger problem.
I think the not sitting a D man has to more to do with showcasing for a trade more than playing so well that they don’t deserve to sit. The players you would sit are the same you want to trade so sitting them could decrease value
Petersen is the better number 2. He is playing better than sandstrom and if he does well maybe we can shed some of his cap hit in a trade
