There's no way the MTA (metropolitan transit authority) will be able to justify an subway extension to Belmont from Jamaica without a very significant amount of private money. The subway system is extremely broke at the moment and previous efforts to introduce private money (the 7 train extension to the Hudson yards development) have been over budget and late, not to mention every other subway construction project that has been undergone in the past 20 years.
Right now they are overburdened with the second avenue subway in Manhattan, the east side access project to bring the LIRR main line to grand central terminal, the reconstruction of Penn Station, the replacement of the systemwide signaling system which is falling apart and causing delays in record numbers, and the repair of the east river canarsie tube which was damaged by hurricane sandy in 2012 and still has not been repaired.
Maybe in our lifetimes a subway extension from Jamaica center to Belmont Park will be open for discussion, but I don't think we will even see such a thing get past the drawing board for 30 years.
Happy though that the arena in Belmont will be very good for fans traveling by car from further out in long Island.

I'm an isles fan from Western Canada and I've never to New York or anywhere further than Minnesota. But I'm HYPED
the holidays came early to the NY Islanders fans :p great news to hear, ive always liked that the NY/NJ area has 4 teams in its geographical area, makes for good rivalries and good business, and im glad the future looks like its staying with 4 teams

Your ranking of Nhl logos with the Oilers at #28 has made me tune you fellas out. Storied franchise with a classic logo and beautiful colour palate coming in at #28 ? Wow ! I've NEVER seen a list with the oiler logo ranked any lower than 16th. In fact 90% OF the time the logo makes top 10 and I'd say 40-50% top 5 !! I've enjoyed many of your videos but now IM OUT !! Flames logo ranked higher when it has absolutely no originality and was just carried over from Atlanta. Where the Flames nickname actually had a story to tell in Atlanta. But not in Calgary. Brutal absolutely horrendous call guys. Ya it's all for fun but CMON GET REAL !! Many non Edmonton fans recognize the beauty of that CLASSIC oiler logo. Give your heads a shake fellas. Your better than that
Why not call themselves LONG ISLANDERS, keep the colors but change name? I guess Long island is still NY state but why double claim a city. i've never liked that.(ex: LA Clippers & LA Lakers / NY Islanders & NY Rangers / Florida Panthers & Tampa Bay Lightning).

It would make sense if the New York Islanders kept their colours to keep the Blue and Orange New York Sports traditon, New York Knicks, New York Mets, New York Islanders and Syracuse all have Blue and Orange.
Why the heck would they change the colors and logo?!?!? They are going back to Nassau county which is where the blue, white and orange come from as well as the logo.
We have gone through enough torment with jerseys to finally get back to our roots.

Love your show, I just wanted to say the owners of the Mets don't own Barclays. Brooklyn sports and entertainment own it, they also own the Nassau colesuem. The owners the Mets are in real estate and signed a deal with the Islanders to help with construction. Keep up the good work
