I said the leafs should have traded Marner last summer when they had a chance. Now you can't unless he waives his nmc where he would pick his destination this limiting the return. You add a low end piece on defence for this year's run but you keep your picks and knies Robertson Cowan minten. You push the chips in the middle next year when Tavares and Marner contracts are up. I'd let JT walk unless he takes 3.5 million to be the third line center after his contract

The core 4 are just fine the problem is so many wrong decisions over years for the bottoms 2 lines. We could have used a lot of these guys now, Lafferty, McMann, Sandin, Kadri, Brown, Hyman and Acciari plus not letting kids develop, Marchment, Durzi, Barabanov and Moore.

What were the first moves he made in T.O? OF COURSE the local media fell in love with the moves…they aren't allowed to oppose apparently. Reaves, Klingberg can't play anymore and are MAJOR Liabilities when they do. Domi is a useful 4th liner. You have to believe ShanaPLAN blessed these moves. Every spring the brave one's come out of the woodwork and bark about moving one of the Core 3 (it should be Core 4 because Reilly is a STUD) but the rest of the Team is sadly lacking. I love when 4th line plugs from the marlies run their traps after making league minimum (5 years and 117 NHL games total) and want to just not only look the fool but prove it too, it's really sad when he's trashing Marner's 18 game point streak when his entire career didn't even amount to half that many points.
Trade Tavares for defense Hedman. Put Robertson with Matthews. Trade Marner and Nylander for other pieces.
