I’d pass on Laine, we need a play making centre
I just wanna see us make a run to the playoffs
build to the future. Sell sell sell
Patrick would be a good fit bring him in lets go CAPS
No. Caps need to rebuild.
A hard no for me on Laine. $8.7m cap hit through '25-26 season. Even if they retained half of his salary I wouldn't be thrilled about it. Never has lived up to his talent level. Caps need to sell. They have the toughest schedule in the league remaining, almost no chance to make the playoffs.
Not a fan of Laine. He isn't the player that scored 40+ goals anymore and his goal-scoring has trended down every year even before his trade to CBJ. Unless a major future asset is coming back our way, I don't see what this acquisition does for us.
Laine and Ovechkin on the power play would be impossible to stop!!!!
Let’s avoid the playoffs this year.
Get a good draft pick and get ready for next season.
We could clean house on some of these other teams like Anaheim and Canadians.
Tons of young talent!!!
Nah I'm not feeling Laine on the caps personally. We don't need another inconsistent constantly injured winger. We need a solid pass first, play driving, defensively responsible center man
When do they call it a season and decide it’s not the year
keep the team in D.C.!
Dan, #2 BC beat #1 BU 4-1 with #1 pick score goal Friday, Tonight BC bet BU again. #1 pick is 5th in bc scoring with 13 goals
Personally, I'd be really excited about getting an arena in Virginia and he's looking at building a massive entertainment complex which would be amazing. I live in Virginia so it would be easier for me. My guess is the people who are against it are probably season-ticket holders who like Chinatown, folks in MD, DC or residents of Alexandria which is completely reasonable. There's a lot of folks in Northern Virginia that want to keep NoVA 'livable' by tamping down development but the whole area is urbanizing and it should be embraced as it's more responsible land-use. IMHO, this arena deal is going down whether we like it or not. The tone of the email convinced me of that. If they can get everything finalized before the 2025 governor election, it's over.
Something that really needs to be addressed here is how hard it is to do business in DC and it's not even the DC government's fault. It's the fault of the federal government. Since DC is a federal territory and not a state, they have to go to congress for a lot of approvals. That makes it really hard to be competitive about approving say, a massive entertainment facility or in this case, just a renovation to the existing arena. DC will suffer from this deal and Bowser will get blamed for that but it's not really fair. She's basically fighting with both hands tied behind her back and subject to whims of the federal government which everyone knows is basically non-functional.
I live in Virginia and don't want the Caps to move here. I'd rather see them stay in the district.
