  1. It's easy to get really hyped right now. But being an older individual who has watched hockey for decades I must say that there is a legitimate threat that the Wings are peaking a bit too early. Typically you want your team to begin peaking after the trade deadline and into the runup before playoffs start. Just saying. I've seen a lot of team ups and downs throughout the years and many many playoff competitions. Peaking too early can be bad.

  2. That pass from Kane to Fabbri was thr best pass I've seen in years. It's at the 7:47 mark of the Sportsnet highlights if you haven't seen.

  3. Was lucky enough to end up 8 rows off the ice tonight, LCA was E L E C T R I C and the boys are BUZZING 🔥🐙

  4. What a game to be at!!! It was amazing, definitely has me looking forward to the playoffs

  5. U got to believe in Yzerman plan look what he did in Tampa he had MESS when Ken Holland was running team🎉 long term contracts turn team around it took a while he also played same in his career

  6. As memorable as Sunday's game against Chicago was, it was not their best team effort. They gave up way too many quality chances against, and only won because our opponent was a much weaker team. I was hoping that this was just a one-off, possibly due to the emotional tributes to Chelios and Kane.

After last night, it looks like my hopes are realized. Even beyond the eye-catching goal total, the Red Wings played a great all-around game against Washington, as they had previously done against St. Louis. Games as emotional as the Chicago game are rare, so as long as they keep playing like they have been lately in other games, it will soon get to the point where we can ask "who" rather than "if" in regards to our first-round playoff opponent.

  7. I still remember 2-3 years ago when so-called wings fans were blasting Yzerman. People want instant gratification and that’s not how things work.

  8. I was at that game last night and I’d argue that they could learn from that game but not in the way you think. Mainly they just need to keep playing how they played. Wings kept possession in Washington’s zone for more than half the game. They were getting off way more shots and applying pressure. Then when they had a good lead they didn’t let off the gas. Boys were playing well. Sure you could argue Lyon let in 1 and maybe 2 that he should have gotten but he’s still been real solid for the wings lately. As long as #19 keeps making good signings/trades/drafts and continues to develop those prospects I can see this team becoming dangerous for a good while

  9. I think Stevie Y can still make a move before the deadline one of two ways. Make room for a young guy or two to come up to the Wings later this year or for next year, and I can also see him packaging a couple pieces or talent and getting someone like Hanifin, assuming they would sign at least a couple year deal. He could also stand pat and I do t think any of those options upset the apple cart. The team feels so gelled right now, I feel players will continue to want to play in Detroit. Hockeytown is back.

  10. I remember being so sad when Yzerman hung up the skates. But now, here he is, once again redefining Red Wings hockey. Legend.

  11. Said it when Christian Fischer signed that my fellow Wings fans were going to be surprised by him. The guy is an absolute workhorse, a dog on a bone out there. He fits perfectly. Stevie needs to extend him. This team is so well balanced and for the first time in many years, they are….a team. You can sense their chemistry. Not built around a superstar (thanks to the worst draft lottery luck 7 years running), but despite that, Stevie has done the absolute most with the absolute least as a GM.

    LGRW

  12. We got this, but lets get through March, March always worries me. All we need now is a Hertl from crap San Jose and a D man like Gustav Forsling, still can't believe Gostisbehere has not been given an extension yet and maybe a goalie for security.

  13. This house of cards tumble if Seider goes down.. Steve needs to find another 20 min clog on D..
