No they are not! They are too weak, defensively the whole team. I have no problem with the goalies, it’s the defenceman and especially the forwards.

The real problem is the Oilers can't score on teams that collapse in front of the net. They can't get passes a cross, they don't shoot, the shots they do take are low risk, and they get stuck in offensive mode. Then a bad pass gets intercepted, its 2-1 or a breakaway the other way and it's in.
If they can't find a ways to get tipped pucks and deflections into the net, they will have a hard time,
Not with Skinner as the starter. He’s a backup that’s default to the #1 role. He’s over hyped as usual. I rather have Pickard and Campbell as our tandem going to the playoffs.

Anything can happen playoffs are a total different game if they go in healthy Skinner is good then bad his back up has looked good pikerd anyway it always boils down to goaltending in playoffs who ever is hot that team rides with goaltending being hot I use the year Montreal Canadiens Carrie Price was not Perry and Eric stall were both brought in for playoffs and they rolled with price who was super hot they had a good run till price was hurt dirty and it just deflated Montreal but Perry and stall and with Price playing hot Montreal could have won cup they were on a tear and because goaltending was hot
They could win it, if they can bring their best game consistently throughout the playoffs. That has been a problem. When they are one step below their best glaring weaknesses appear: they can't break out against an aggressive forecheck, they can't penetrate a tight defense, and they give up way too many odd man rushes, among other problems. Other teams are going to be playing at their peak too, and the Oilers will have to find the top gear and stay there if they want to have a chance.

Absolutely love that everyone is on broad about how cheap and unethical the Vegas Bettman knights are I’ve been on this for way too long solo look into their deal with Florida a couple years ago the league always them todo some sus shit and I think the “losing team” in the trades or what not is offered some under the table shit but who knows Bergman’s a snake Vegas threw a massive bag at him for a hockey team that probably came with terms. All the entertainment marketing content for all players is shot and filmed in Vegas now. When you look at the oilers and see what we have …we have depth for sure…we have two really really good lines and hopefully with Henrique being in the third we can have three really good lines…we have pretty good goaltending and a lot of depth…Campbell is doing great in bako and we know he is good in the playoffs…the defense is another issue tho…let’s pray they can all come together in the playoffs!
I’d argue defensively this is the best the McDavid era has ever been. Offensively this is one of their weaker seasons but their style of play now seems to be more sustainable for success in the playoffs.
We have to hope they are holding something back that will come out in the playoffs. Otherwise they’re cooked as other teams are harder, hungrier, and more consistent.

Oilers are gonna lead the league in turnovers by April. They are currently 2nd. We have 3 players in the top 15 on that list. I would be surprised to see them in the cup final. Also fun fact. Nuge has lost over 80% of his 50/50 battles in his career. I can see Oilers getaway with a lot of BS during the reg season. But not sure this can sustain over 25 playoffs games.
Instead of bringing aboard top 6 player, Oilers GM got 3 mediocre players ))🤑 The Oilers have a lot of mediocre players on their team, including Nurse at $9 million a year and Kane at $5 million a year. Did YOU watch the game with Columbus or Buffalo? Is this how a Stanley Cup winner should play?😝😝
