3 things I didn't like from the results of this game…1, Edmonton inches closer to closing the gap between us now because they won tonight…2, Makar also inches closer to Hughes in points now because he got 2 apples tonight…3, how do you lose this game after having a 3 goal lead ?? Inexcusable imo. Toch has got to call time outs when his team is clearly panicking so to get the team back on track mentally.
One more thing that this game proved is….Pettersson is NOWHERE near the level of players like the McKinnons and McDavids, because just like Toch said here in this interview…McKinnon can just change the direction of a game just so as long as he decides to do it, Pettersson cannot do that, he is quite obviously not at that level of a player yet where if he decides to switch it on he can change the outcome of a game by himself, players like MacKinnon and McDavid can. So Petey is CLEARLY at least one cut below these players. The way it's going right now it does not look like he is even going to reach 100 points this season.
Whar that learned is that with the season sweep Colorado is clearly the superior team.

I guarantee anyone reading this if that overtime faceoff was won to hughes instead , the guy would have retreated and puck handled playing keep away to his own end , wasting 15 20 seconds before dumping and getting ready for a change next possession ?

The Canucks system completely changed after the first 30 minutes. Tocchet promoting this 🐢 play with a lead is BS. We were outshot 17-3 in the third because he wants them to "defend the lead" Which then causes turnovers, bad penalties and eventually losses. This one's on the coaching. Possum play doesn't win championships.
I don’t like how the coach seems to place this all on the players. He has a me vs them tone to his statement.

Bad goal with one second left in second period then 3 penalties and 3 goals. Overall I thought the Canucks played well. You have to give MacKinnon credit. The guy is an amazing player.
Im a canuckelhead ( for over 50 years) and the problem is they have always been a 40 minute team for years, better fix it or they will be gone first round.
They all played like pettersen in the third. Soft and lazy. But at least most of them didn't kill thier cap space for trading with a 11.6 million dollar deal to stifle the teams chances of getting a decent playoff guy.
So frustrating to see Boeser being so slow, losing board battles, and just trying to grab guys to keep up.
This game was so frustrating. Tocc is to blame. No timeout call, they didn't play AT ALL in the 3rd. No one. No excuses.
