Keefe's on his last legs and his increasing criticism on the team is further proof of that.
Can you guys do a deep dive into the value of a coach? I think people would think the difference is larger than it is. 5 games for a top coach versus a bottom coach seems possible. Does a stronger coach get more out of a weak team or a strong team? I think it would be interesting to investigate
It is painfully obvious that the players don’t respond to Keefe anymore. You can see it in Keefe’s reactions to everything. Look at the other teams that have changed coaches and the better play that has resulted from the change. Too late for this year, but must happen before next year.
All the top 4 care about is going to the golf course after the first round.they dont care about the leafs fans or winning the cup
The issue limiting the Leafs is their Core 4 and not the coaching.😀 Until the Leafs upgrade their $50 Million Core 4 – does it matter even if they don’t have a coach at all?
If you are a seasoned NHL veteran coach who has won Cups I can understand yelling and shaming your players.
But Keefe has only coached TML in the NHL, no one has any respect for him on the team.
What exactly does Keefe do?
What strategy does he implement that makes him an elite NHL coach, is it benching the odd bottom 6 player?
Or switching the lines up?
Or playing Brodie constantly in positions we ALL know he is horrible in?
Or the BACK PASS?
Shanahan is a worse problem then Keefe!
Fire Shanahan and Keefe and possibly Treliving can fix this mess!
Also Tavares is a pathetic captain, find some one with real character that TALKS to his players ffs,
what kind of BS is a lead by example captain making 11M and producng at 4 M player rate ?
This will seem odd after the amount of shots they had. They need to learn to shoot and look for the rebounds. You have great scorers but we need those cleaning up garbage goals. You do not need a highlight reel goal every goal.
He was dramatically out coached in both series of the playoffs last year. He needs to get better or he has to go. You can’t get to the end of the playoffs with if the leader gets outplayed every game.
Sometimes the road is easier than at home, there's a lot more pressure from fans and media, and hockeys a sport where being the underdog or at least the bad guys can bring out the killer instinct in players.
By always naming, calling out and blaming the players, he’s losing the respect of the team. ✔️
Don't worry about the goalie letting in the first shot on goal, the Calgary netminders do it regularly.

Ever since Keefe walked back his comment early last year , he hasn't held the veterans accountable for the poor effort ! Poor play making decessions, and physical compete level.
He reluctance to call time outs at critical crucial moments!
The benching of certain players ! And letting the core players get away with the same or worse infractions!
He lack of confidence of the bottom 6 in giving them opportunity chances to contribute .
He defensive scemes pulling goaltenders with 3 minutes left in a game 2 goals down and not able to control the puck only to turn it over and lose by 3 goals!
Not overly impressed.
As for this thought Mathews must be the next Captain is Why? Because he is one of the top players ? He is a fan favorite ? Where has Mathews shown any type of leadership qualities?
When has Mathews taken control of a game when they are down ?
When has Mathews ever shown any physicality ? Evolved in a scrum ! Go to any players line mates defense!
I’ve been telling all my friends and co workers that the leafs have needed a new coach for a couple years now. This is based only on what I see in the playoffs. This is an incredibly long wait to find out if I’m correct or not.
Say it guys home ice SUCKS! It does matter because it levels out the skill factor.
Good coaches make their money in the playoffs….what's his playoff record? Also why are we better on the road than at home? Coach gets last change at home, seems the more decision s he has to make the worse the team looks. Reilly – Broadie pairing? I know the coach doesn't play but he determines the lines and the strategies, pp, pk and who plays when.

The problem with the coach is he does not have the respect of the dressing room. He cannot motivate the highly paid core; the also rans just can’t keep up to anything and are probably led by the sulking 4. This has been obvious for many months. Next, we have some over paid very mediocre players: 44 being the most obvious example.
Only real discussion to be having. Finally. Sheldon is not a good coach. I seriously hope they make a change next year.
Unless they’re stuck with him. In which case we can expect the same old same.

I don't know if Keefe is the problem. But there's only 1 way to know for sure. Try someone new. Maybe it's goaltending. Maybe its the personnel on defense. The team's bought into blocking shots so much so that the goaltenders rarely see the pucks that hit them. On the other hand, I know i hate the lackadaisical line changes and when the defense stops up on the forwards at the defensive blueline, leaving someone like Gregor to defend a 2 on 1. Barely anyone ever gets benched, and certainly not the defensemen. Nylander for a period this year. Marner for a period last year. I can't recall anyone else. Brodie in the press box isn't the same thing. To be benched is to sit there in front of 18,000 suits, while you wonder what the announcers are saying to the fans at home. That's a benching.
There are positives that Keefe brings, but I think someone else could bring that and more.

Keefe should’ve been canned years ago. The coaching will continue to limit the potential of this team in 7 game series.
