Al is on the right track, but he just needs to be blunt: The Flyers lack high end talent. That has been their problem for a decade as Homer, Hextall and Fletcher just missed on so many picks. Sadly, Gauthier was legit prospect and he didn’t want to play here. Can you blame him? it’s a dysfunctional organization. We are no different than the Washington Football team. A once great organization that has been irrelevant for too long.
We needed to stink this year and get another high draft pick, but instead we did a typical Flyers season: tease the playoffs, probably will miss the playoffs, and draft at #15 in June. Gee, I wonder why we have been mediocre for a decade?
I've been saying it all year–IT'S THE LACK OF A POWER PLAY catching up with them. Think how different it would be if they had a capable Power Play…even just a bit better???? It's an embarrassment. If they played under the rules of Football, they should just DECLINE the penalty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its that bad.
Torts was given a bunch rookies and spare parts this year. Not to mention our star player/starting goalie got into legal trouble and that threw a wrench in the works. He deserves a to see this rebuild through all the way.
