The Magic Number for the Caps is 8 as it stands in the standings as we speak with a 1 pt lead over the Redwings and the Penquins. This is how serious it is. If we win out, it doesn't matter what the two chasing teams do because they all have 78 games played and the Caps are 1 pt in front so, a win out of the regular season is what will be needed to insure the last spot in the playoffs. There are other teams only 2 points back, so it is almost a certainty that the Caps need to run the Table. Or if we lose, we need to get some help. Say your prayers and keep Chuckie Sideburns in the net the rest of the way. I think it would be hard, but moving Kuemper would be a plus even if we have to eat part of his salary and bring up Stevenson as our #2.

One crucial great thing the caps have going for them is they should have an easy 2 points in the seasons last game vs the. Quickly sinking flyers. As long as the caps can have a decent run vs buffalo, Boston and Tampa bay and find themselves needing 2 points to get in vs flyers they will make it!
Hope Boston and tampa rest stars for playoffs or don’t try hard vs capitals. Caps have to attack more in games coming up, can’t expect Charlie to do the same magic as vs Detroit every game. Need more attack offensively yet never letting up on the defensive aspect every shift.
