DeSmith's best game for sure. Without him shutting Edmonton out in the first period, this game would probably have been lost.
Let’s go
I’d rather have Nashville, it would be a lot better for us matchup wise
agreed desmith was awsome! def was good
Quinn is going to have to be ready for the playoffs. The Oilers tried to bully him tonight and it worked to an extent. But I have faith in Quinn that he’ll come through for Van
Thumb nail needed more brooms
They barely won against the Oilers without mcdavid
l a should win out and finish 3rd. casey .970 save % tonight. canucks shut them down.
Im pretty sure a rested and healthy McDavid is all the Oilers are thinking about.
Everyone I mean everyone on the Canucks has at least a hit against the Oilers. Ever player was willing to hit and put the opposition on their butts. When the opposition are being hit 48 times on the night, it is no wonder the Oilers could muster just one goal. This is Tocchet hockey baby, besides clogging up the middle! Way to go boys.
Edm has LA and Nashvilles number. They dont call Leon the Mayor of Nashville for nothing.
We won with DeSmith, but they didn't have McDavid.
DeSmith wS solid. The Canucks made very few mistakes.
One point more is all they need to clinch the division. Thatll mean they lead the division from start to finish the entire season. They also sweep the Oilers for the year.
I like their odds if they have to face the Oilers (who made a great comeback over the course of the season after their dismal start, I'll give them that) in the playoffs.
I just hope the Canucks dont have to play LA at any point. Theyve struggled against them this year.
Canucks don't need to beat the Flames or Jets. All they need is 1 more point to clinch the division title.
The Canucks' power play looking better in this game, I can see why. Early in the season, when the Canucks were dominating with their offense, they had this in motion attack where all players were active and moving at all times, and that gave even the stingiest of defenses fits, because it would force them to have to chase, as the angels and lanes are ever shifting, and they'd have to keep adapting to those ever shifting lanes to try and shut them down, and when an offense does that, sooner or later even the best shutdown player are either going to get too tired and lag behind the play, or they're going to make a mistake and get buried for it.
In fact, if the Canucks were playing against a bigger, more physical team (not that there's many of those this season for the Canucks), that constant motion strategy is how a smaller team can wear down a bigger team. Big bodies take more energy to move and turn, and accelerate and stop then smaller bodies do. However, it takes more energy for a smaller body to push a bigger body around then it does a bigger body to push a smaller one around.
In other words, little teams need to skate and move, and force the bigger team to have to skate and move to try and keep up. Bigger teams have to try and sucker the little guys into banging around the boards and play physical, so they can slow them down and push them around more easily. In an even matchup between a big and little team, it's going to be the team that can dictate their favorable style of play that's most likely to win.
Vancouver fans want Nashville?, like how Toronto fans wanted Florida last year? Careful what you ask for.
Casey DeDemko DeSmith player amazing
I believe van just needs 1 point because if we get 1 point and the oilers win they're last 3 games we'd be tied and van would have more wins
Hey Lego,
If Petey does not bring it in the playoffs and Lindholm does, I wonder if the management team would consider moving him in the off seasson?
Never call out a team.Look what happened last year, when Toronto called out the panthers. And got beat
The Oilers own both Nashville and LA so we don’t care.
