I can't imagine how deflating it must be to playin front of a goalie who allows a goal on the first of of every damn period…. I'm.not surprised the deserve to win o meter favored Toronto… I honestly thought they out played Boston the whole game…. they get momentum, then boom goal against, takes the wind out of my sail and I'm not even playing…. please never allow samsonov btwn the post a of an Nhl net ever again… the offense wasn't great so there are obviously more issues, but if you allow a goal on the first shot of the period all the time then no need to talk about the rest bc it is already over
The Leafs just have four $11 Million forwards with zero playoff runs – who just are not even close to being superstars. Matthews is a regular season superstar only.
Leafs will have to pump up their compete level considerably against the Bruins or this will be a short series. And another first round failure.

I think Boqvist deserve to have more credits, he's singlehandedly carry Boston's 4th line offense, which it didn't exist before his called up and it was Beecher driving the line,
and the funny thing is because Boqvist's play better at C but he can't win faceoff, so they let Beecher play wing while still taking FO instead of Boqvist, turns out it worked really well
Nylander is not the excuse. He has ZERO goals and only 4 assists in the last 11 gamnes.
This may actually be a good thing he doesnt realizr getting crushed in game 1 last year and ended up winning the series

Leafs don’t even know the meaning of stadium atmosphere. Look at European sports, now that’s atmosphere. American sports stadiums have zero atmosphere, even Boston. It’s not even close. If Leafs can’t handle Bruins atmosphere then they’d lose a series to any European team I. SHL, DEL, Liiga, etc.

The leafs can’t do it. Sheldon Keefe needs to go. They need to blow up the big 4. I’d almost say aside from Austin Matthew’s I’d rebuild. Maybe by the time they get half decent again the Atlantic won’t be such a dominate group. The series will go either 4-0 or 4-1. I’d talk about how Florida… but it’s not necessary. Don’t miss any sleep staying up if your a leafs fan just watch the Bruins highlights on YouTube the next day.

This Video makes me honestly sad and I'm not even a Leafs Fan. I mean the Series is over. And it's for all the Reasons Steve talked about. From Matthews not playing up to his abilities in the Playoff over poor Decision making to their "Fear" of TD Garden. The Toronto Maple Leafs have a Losing mentality throughout their Hockey Club. I love that Steve just went over the Nylander "Injury" because the Pens in 2017 won the Cup without Kris Letang, they didn't cry about it either. They need to get rid of Matthews, Marner and/or Nylander if they want to win the Cup. They need to get in Players with a different mentality and a different approach to the Sport that pays them Millions.

I BLAME YOU STEVE! You got me interested on Leaf's, but after 3 seasons of worst playoff IPS I've ever witnessed I can only either get an heart attack in near future or but this loss felt like the last year's Florida loss in 2nd round game 1. THEY NEVER RECOVERED FROM THAT. AAAAARGH!

Game 1 is a bigger deal than a lot of people are trying to make it out to be. Yes a Game 1 loss can be overcome, of course it can, BUT, this loss is symptomatic of the bigger issue: after 8 straight runs at getting mentally prepared for the postseason under the "Shana-plan" regime… they're still not ready. They've still got the yips. And yes while that does mean that the regime has been successful in the regular season, it's inexcusable if the goal is to win a Cup. And now that you've got all your stars on untradeable contracts (at least untradeable without getting hosed in the deal), you might just be stuck. 🤷♂️
