So it sounds like there's rumors suggesting the Coyotes are possibly heading to Salt Lake City! Do you think it happens? 👀
"Hockey History" – what does that have to do with anything, Canada has "Hockey History" in all its cities but can't get a team, and 5 whole games with an attendance over 8500 in Salt Lake, Wow, Halifax Mooseheads have that as an average attendance over the season for QMJHL, so a small Canadian East Coast City can do better for junior hockey. I can't believe they are considering Atlanta again, after two failed attempts already. Hamilton or Quebec would support a team easily, but will never get the chance with Bettman as league president. The NHL is very Anti-Canada, is becoming obvious.
I think quibec, halifax, and Texas need teams!!!
As a Boston Bruins fan, I'd have very little interest in seeing another expansion team with no history. But I could get into having one become the new Quebec Nordiques.
Technically they'd have no history either… but it must've really s*cked for those fans to lose their team.
Well, you can scratch SLC off the list.
Centralia will have a team before Québec
You now in theory have 1 chance in 32 of your team winning a cup. So how would you like chance that diluted even more? Well it won't matter as greed always wins out in the end. Its a business.
Why the hell would Atlanta work this time???
While Quqbec's met population is around 800,000, they fail to take into account the fact that there are literally millions of fans in the surrounding provinces and US states who would be more than happy to make the trip to Quebec city to see a Nordiques game…ESPECIALLY if it's against the Habs. The only reason the "deck is stacked against them" is because Bettmen is an asshole who hates Canada.
I’m predicting the new franchise in Utah will be called the Yeti so much could be done with a new logo that brings excitement.
First, West Toronto/Hamilton deserves a 2nd team. Canadians love our hockey. Up next, Houston, Portland, Cincinatti or Atlanta.
There ain't a chance in hell that Portland getsva team. Already a natural rivalry between Seattle and Vancouver. Plus throw in the glut of Cali teams…yeah, less than zero percent chance the Portlsnd even smells a team. The west coast would be too congested…akin to the easylt coast if Hartford was brought back.
NHL should go International as well – would be cool to have some European teams in the NHL
Betman is a joke. He hates Canada and has obviously laid down the rule. No canadian team can win the cup. Refs are so biased ots ridiculous. He would rather have 10 US teams looseoney than put one more team in Canada. Hey bud its our game. Go back to that stupid game you came from. Get out of ours.
QUEBEC CITY
Its bad enough with 32 teams, making average droughts lasting (you guessed it 32 years)
Imagine being a fan of a franchise and never seeing your team win anything in your entire lifetime. That is likely gonna be the case for many people if they keep expanding.
If we have to deal with another expansion draft I quit.
Move the Leafs out of Toronto cause they are not working its taking 57 maybe 58 years to win the Stanley Cup, it took Vegas only 5 to 6 years to win the Cup and they are brand New. Something isn't adding up here
Atlanta will never get a 3rd NHL team, they already failed twice!
Hartford whalers
Did you say Seattle crackhead? 🤣🤣🤣 It would be a good representation of the city. 🤷♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣
Quebec would have a team IF CANADA WAS NOT RUN BY A COMMUNIST WHO TAXES THE 💩 OUT OF EVERYONE.
Bettman was let go in they nba , so the sports cooperation committees made him go to a less popular sport in they us which is hockey. Basketball and Baseball is more popular in the states and they have only 30 teams, this nut case bettman is ruining the nhl. And listen up fans the chance of your team winning is like over 30 years , he’s just a greedy dwarf.
Why the fuck pro sports expanding # of teams? The talent pool gets too thin and it's harder for fans to follow the sport. I use to know all the players on each team in the 70's. This is ridiculous. ENOUGH ALREADY!
Since this video, The NHL has announced, that The Coyotes are moving to UT. The City of Atlanta had 2 🏒 teams, and looked what happened to them. They let the 🔥 go to Calgary, and They won The Stanley Cup 9 years ago, and The Thrashers weren't drawing attendance, and moved back to Winnipeg. Hartford, No Way. They let rhe Whalers go to Carolina, and they won the Stanley Cup a few years later. The Province of Quebec let The Nordiques go to CO, and to add insult to injury, tbey won The The Stanley Cup their first year there.
Atlanta ??? been there twice 3 STRIKES and you are OUT
Arizona went to Utah .
Utah can be called the Utah polygamous make the mascot a Sea lion.
For a 33rd NHL team, I'd like to see an NHL team in Kansas City. Name? Kansas City Warriors, Colors Hot red, yellow, and white. For a 34th NHL team, maybe in Memphis, Tennessee. Name? Memphis Cougars. Colors? Black, light blue, and white.
Bring back the Hartford Whalers!
no more marcel aubut….he`s a dog of a human being !!! also Gary Bettman doesn`t like canada therefore similar feelings towards canadians thus no more teams in canada even though hockey is a canadian game etc etc…..
Bring back the Quebec Nordiques!
Well if you would have been smart and put the Coyotes in a good area it would have worked. I live in AZ, every spot you put them was dumb asf and everyone knew it would t work. So we are loosing a team cause some dumb people couldnt figure out where to put them, brilliant
Halifax. The NovaScotia region would hole heartedly support their team 100%. They would poach Boston's market a little. As my cousins used to support the Bruins from there.
Mexico City Should jump in. That would be rad!
Atlanta should NEVER have lost The Thrashers. I feel it was the bigwigs in the NHL that convinced the owners to move to Winipeg and then give a BS reason to leave. SLC is getting the Coyotes minus the name. A city not mentioned was Cleveland who had a team for 2 years in the 70s. Strange that it was only 2 years.
Shouldn’t Saskatchewan have a team. A lot of NHL players come from there and there are a lot of rich farmers. 😁
Life long fan , saw my team win the cup when I was 10 yrs old I’m 47 now still have the tix stub (it’s so awesome) I’ll be bowing out after this playoffs the game isn’t the same anymore incredible bad officiating / corruption in the game are my primary reasons for moving on
The Arizona Coyotes are officially headed to Salt Lake City. The NHL Board of Governors voted unanimously to approved a $1.2 billion sale from Alex Meruelo to Utah Jazz owners Ryan and Ashley Smith, clearing the way for the franchise's move to Utah next season.
If you followed the NHL and not just your team you would've been aware of this many months ago as this is not news and has been in the works for almost a year!
If the NHL is reluctant to expand to Hartford due to them losing an NHL team, WHY would they STILL be talking about Atlanta?! While I understand the population numbers, the fact is Atlanta hasn’t supported the 2 NHL teams it had. The Atlanta Flames moved to Calgary and the Atlanta Thrashers moved to Winnipeg, to replace the Jets team that moved to Arizona and became the Coyotes. Point is, Atlanta doesn’t support NHL hockey.
Great episode cause I was trying to find Ryan Smith's website and couldn't find it and I was relieved to find the first site talking about names for the team, and that was yours, so now I will reward you with a subscribe
Would be nice to have more teams given that it doesn't cause trouble to the league. It's always refreshing.
There's no limit the league said there will be expansion in Québec City Houston Atlanta
32 teams is well over enough tbh.
If you're going to out anyone in a Quebec Nordiques jersey (on your thumbnail for the video), it should be a young Lindros. #GoAvsGo
Texas needs a new team. El Paso needs a NHL team.
A small city supporting 2 winter teams is unlikely to be successful. 0 chance hockey in Utah will work.
No more Atlanta, please. It's just sad for everyone involved.
Houston is the 4th largest city in the United States
HARTFORD WHALERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
