Red Wings Hockey Haiku Time
"uh mr tortorella the wings are going into Ot,"
tortorella : PULL THE GOALIE
As a wings fan this may anger some but it needs to be said. If you're emotionally triggered don't read. There is no reason to be mad with Philly. Wings have themselves to blame for losing that many games near playoffs when it mattered most. They controlled their own destiny at one point and played reckless because of the absence of Dylan. Learn from it. The teams that clinched wanted to control their own destiny rather than another team. No need to be mad with Washington for not falling off. The Wings losing streak gave those 4 teams a chance at the second seed because the Wings once again started to fall off a cliff at season end. Let's be honest with ourselves. No team was going to help the Wings get in. They just weren't. To think Boston couldn't beat Washington, really??? They're more than capable of beating Washington LOL. Boston had already clinched a playoff spot. Boston was well aware winning would help the wings get in. They're thought process most likely is Why help the Wings? Philly definitely knew they were eliminated once Detroit went into overtime which is why they pulled the goalie as early as the did. Washington was not going to go away or slip up with the wildcard seed on the line. Yes, Wings played great after the fact, but not enough in March. It's a little too late.
Detroit sucks
what was the detroit moment that did em in, i say reimer ducking and giving up that goal
It's all good. The universe tends to unfold as it should.
Wings
3-11 in March any points extra here and they would of made it.
St Cloud St is getting smoked!
cole and slaf goals…woot…cant wait for next year
HA HA WINGS FANS now you know how the Sabres felt last year.
Rememeber last eyar when all the wings fan wete roasting buffalo fans for missing by one point??? Karma hahahahhaahah
The wings did not deserve to be in the playoffs. Lalonde can’t get this team to play defense. He could not get the team going during their massive losing streak. His line choices during the losing stretch were horrible. Stevie please fire this guy.
Let's do the griddy!
Love how all season comes down to a few plays. Great stuff.
The part that really sucks for the wings is that they had eliminated philly from the playoffs before philly pulled their goalie to go for a regulation win making it essentially pointless and just ends up screwing over the wings. However it was just minutes apart so that information never made it to the philly bench.
Gonna miss Sprong and Perron if they leave, hell of a season.
Last year the Caps screwed Detroit out of 8th overall, this year Washington screwed Detroit out of the playoffs.
Wings had a lot of success in the Yzerman era I am fine if they continue to miss they playoffs.
Debrincat with only 1 more point than he got last year with Ottawa when he was "lazy".. so glad he didn't take the 8+mil a year Dorion offered him.. the return on the trade sucked but it's better than being stuck with that contract
91 points ain’t bad 🎉
Gave up 274 goals for the year, one of the 9th worst GA in the NHL. Bet on the wrong goalies as well as iffy decisions for the years defensive pairings. Petry and Holl signings were not the answer for fixing this blueline before it even began.
Team gave great offensive prowess with 278 goals but giving up way too many early leads and blown leads and battling back proved they were their own worst enemy.
Tortorella is a cuck for giving the caps a win.
Don't worry, just stick to the Yzerplan! 😂
Once a red wing….always a red wing! Go Reds
Believe in the Yzerplan! Give him another 5 years to get in the playoffs! If that doesn't work, give him 5 more!
Rangers in 4
For perspective:
DRW – 6 Cup Finals and 4 Cups last 30 years.
Maple Leafs – ZERO cups in 57 years.
Wings fans your team should’ve won against the Coyotes!
Glad Larkin got a slew foot on the POS habs rookie who should be banned from the NHL for SA
F the Coach of Philadelphia 4 doing what he did.
The most disappointing part is that the wings and caps were tied for points, and the wings had one more win than them. But because of the stupid "regulation wins" rule. We dont get in. I boggles my mind. The team with more overall wins should have the playoff spot
hutson owns the wings
It was rigged against detroit
thank you Capitals 😊
