  1. I don't care at all about "cheating" the salary cap, I love a good underdog story.

There didn't even used to be a salary cap. A team could go up against a team worth twice as much and there could still be an upset. Look at the 2004 Calgary flames

  2. The solution is so simple. Keep everything exactly as written but add a stipulation that no team shall ever dress an 18 skater/2 goalie team with a cap hit greater than the limit. Vegas (and over half the league) can keep their players but only dress a team under the limit. Emergency call ups are the only exceptions.

Simple. Therefore it'll never happen in the NHL.

  3. Never pick the Stars to win. I don’t know how they get so many points every season but they are always a bad team. I never see them get past the first round no matter what place they finish.

  4. The rule exists so a team can stay competitive with major players injured. We can see why that is important. It's why GM's didn't vote to change the rule – if they lose their star player they can still make a run for the playoffs by making some aggressive moves.

it's so obviously and blatantly abused in this case though. At some point your players on the ice are going to have to be cap compliant come playoff time. You might have to sit some money in the pressbox. It's a pain in the ass but what else can be done?

  5. They can't keep getting away with this? What are they getting away with? Stop and think. Do the Edmonton Oilers put Connor McDavid on LTIR for two months just to bring him back for the playoffs? Hell no. As a Kings fan, Stone is legitimately injured. Heck all teams use LTIR, so stop bitching about it. If other GMs have no problem with it, then just shut the hell up you bunch of babies. Seriously. How about Vegas is just a better team then your pathetic excuse for a team. Admit it to yourself. Your team sucks and Vegas doesn't. End of story.

  6. If you ain’t cheatin’ you ain’t Vegas, where the house always wins!

  7. love the analogy on this chanel. Well done !! and very nice touch with the Bob Cole tribute "Oh baby "

  8. more teams need to exploit it so the league is forced to do something about it. you can bet your ass they'd flip that shit real quick if the oilers started doing it lol

  9. Unfortunately the officiating has also been quite bad these first two games. The amount of terrible calls benefiting Vegas have been… suspect. The odds of cheating occurring are slim to none, but it’s still frustrating nonetheless because the calls are bad.

  10. kinda sad the stars' fantastic season is gonna get cut short because of the vegas LTIR abusing knights lol. love the content btw. you actually talk hockey in a non-shallow way which is refreshing

  11. I still can’t believe they interviewed Stone at Dallas’ barn, that’s some WWE level trolling

  12. The Stars are getting Stoned. Seems like the Knights are in the Stars' heads ever since last year's playoffs. The Knights exploiting the LTIR loophole surely doesn't help. Would it make sense to close the loophole by applying the salary cap for the playoffs?

  13. I don't like the way Vegas has used so much LTIR, either, but it's a case of a team exploiting a glaring loophole in the NHL's rules that needs to be fixed.
Teams will always do whatever they can within the rules to win. Tampa did it with Kucherov a few years back, and the league has yet to correct the issue.

  14. Blame Vegas for their (ab)use of the LITR rules all you want, just as you can blame the refs all through the playoffs. The good teams find a way to win and Dallas or any other team in the Western Conference can find a way to beat Vegas. Blaming LITR and the refs is simply typical hockey fan finger pointing that usually happens in excess during the playoffs. Anything but pointing the finger at the team themselves for not executing.

  15. Okay, but as a VGK fan, can we talk about how good Oettinger was in game 2? Dude should be in jail for the number of robberies he carried out.
