You are being way too mad about the JVR goal. Defense screwed him hard and he was mid resetting to cover the other side. That’s a goal 90% of the time because of poor D, something all Leafs fans should be used to now.

let's look at Bolts, started with 0-3. now 1-3 against a better than Bruins team. and in all 4 games they looked respectable. However this year I understand "we want Florida" chant — last year Bruins would have swept Leaves and wouldn't even allow 2 goals per game they had against Panthers. Leaves would be lucky to score 2 combined in all 4 games.
when 5-6 years from now you have another kid and it's a different team, though still built around Matthews, and you are blaming another goalie, coach, screaming same stuff and Matthews has a bug or food poisoning again, maybe offer breast feeding him. nobody ever got food poisoning from that. no disrespect for your wife meant.
Auston Matthews is a symbol of this team and of what is wrong with it. Matthews and Maple Leaves ARE CHOKING AT CRITICAL MOMENTS. They are even outchoking Bruins who are known for choking themselves. Matthews is just not a Stanly Cup material.
I would say not to get your hopes up when they win game 5 (I think they will) but considering the history it goes without saying and it ain't gonna work anyway because of our nature — we wouldn't be fans if we could do that. so just stack on stuff lowering your blood pressure and heart rate and try not to end up in a hospital. you have kids, dude. they need you.

The best thing about this game was all the "stars" arguing on the bench. Nylander telling someone not to be a little bitch.
Not fair to Sammy. First goal, he wasn't set and let himself get out of position because he trusted his teammate. I suppose it's Sammy's fault he can't trust them. Second goal he didn't know where the puck was because of the TWO HUGE BODIES right in front of him. He knew the puck was out at the blue line, he HAS to come to the top of the crease to cut the angle in case that guy shoots it, and has to trust his teammates to prevent a pass behind him. Again. But, he was foolish, and it's his fault for trusting his teammates. The third goal was TWO ON NOBODY. What's he supposed to do? You want him to play defense too? Goaltenders tend the goal, but they rely on their defense to make it possible, and the Leafs defense isn't doing that.
Sure, it would be nice to get an emergency save here and there. We've seen most of the elite goalies do this from time to time. We've seen SAMMY do this from time to time. You can't EXPECT it, though. Blaming Sammy for this debacle just isn't fair.

I think about that Columbus team that beat the Bolts a lot. It really showed how aggression and persistence can overcome big obstacles. The Leafs are about as far away from that as humanly possible.

Usually when a situation like the leafs happen where they dont win, dont care it's because the drained moralle stems from the top of the management team. The issue guys is Shannahan. He's stopping all the main things regarding leafs ie: Coaching, trades of key players. Sure Keefe sucks at making calls, but I believe his hands are tied by Shanahan. Shanny is the cancer of this team and he needs to be cut out. Until that happens, the Shanahan plan is to just bring up shareholder stocks and revenue.
If u think Shanny gets canned, u r up for a big surprise. It's all about $$$$$ folks…nothing more.

The Leafs have managed to take four guys, the "Core Four", who struggle when asked to be "The Guy", and they've asked them all to be "The Guy". Many guys just want to be role players and struggle to rise to the moment. I think that's true of Matthews, Marner, Tavares, and Nylander.
They need to get rid of them and get a guy who wants to be "The Guy." Those guys are guys like Mark Stone, Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin, Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar, Jack Eichel, Connor McDavid, Matthew Tkachuk, etc.
