Good teams win games whether they deserve it or not
Oilers should concentrate on playing defense first, our opportunities will eventually come like last night. Plus we have more skill players and scorers who can finish which imo will put us over the top.
3rd year in a row these 2 teams play each other in the first round and this is the first time a team has been up 2 games in the series
Stu played fantastic. I think he's still young for a goalie and he will be a starter. LA outplayed us but we outplayed them in game 2. And wow. 5000 people is nuts. What a fanbase you built in not even 6 months
Wow Evan BOOMchard 💥💥💥. Without him we probably dont win this game. He is a fantastic player. #1 PP defenseman for sure. Defenseman a step up from Barrie and Nurse.
In no way did we deserve to win that game. 80-20 on moneypuck. But an ugly win is still a win.

I think a fair Vinny D contract would be 4 years- 2.5 mil/yr. He's a fantastic bottom pair and pk guy, but he's likely never going to be more than that.
Although the Kings were in the Oilers zone the majority of the game most of their shots were outside the “Red zone”. Oilers did a great job keeping the Kings to the outside. The number of shots means nothing as we got the one shot we needed lol! If they can balance this with a bit more offence they will crush the Kings on Wednesday.
For those who say 1 goal against in the last two games whats wrong with the Oilers? is not a good argument.
If we don’t keep skinner forever, I might cry. Also Vinny, huge block with less than a minute left, he played great.

It pains me to see how quick oiler fans switch up on goalies even now. Skinner has proved himself so much this and last season but they only focus on the downsides even if the upsides drastically outweigh them

If Stu can get hot throughout other series, then Oilers have a very good chance to win. The main problem has always been goaltending and defence. Edmonton proved tonight they have that. The plan is there, time to execute. Canucks are the most likely 2nd round match up.
Helleybuck has a worse save percentage than Skinner. Proves that season doesn't always mean everything. Goalies go hot and cold.
I feel like Avs could make the conference finals and we could have an oilers Avs rematch. Y'know, time to slay the dragon.

The entire game I kept yelling at my screen to screen the goalie and we never did once. Reason why skinner was getting easy saves was simply because our team is braindead and only play on the outside and never screen the goalie. Horrible coaching on our part or it’s just the players who don’t understand basic hockey…..

While Skinner hasn't been "perfect", he's doing his job really well.
Let's not forget that Grant Fuhr – arguably, the biggest "money" goalie in Oilers' history – was 2-3 in his rookie playoff season with a GAA above 5 and a Sv% of .85, but was massively better in his next substantial playoff year (83-84).
If we get the defence and goaltending (especially goaltending) that we saw in Game 4 for the rest of the playoffs going forward, then I really like our chances of going deep into the postseason! Only the fourth time we've won a playoff game 1-0 in franchise history, and it had given us the chance to finish this series off at home on Wednesday. I really hope the boys can do it!! Also just so you know, Talbot also had a 1-0 shutout win in 2017 against the Sharks (Game 3)
