Great vid man! New Sabres fan here, and I realize that I’m getting into a dangerous situation, but I’m an upstate NY resident and as a Bills fan I think I need to support the Sabres no matter how bad they are.
This video is SPOT ON! Two things I have felt for a while is that this team is built around a losing culture and they need a strong coach that takes people to task.
1. I didn't like the Buffaslug at first. But it grew on me. 2. I agree that the Sabres were gutless that night when Miller was hung out to dry. I'm convinced that we would have made the playoffs at least once the last couple years if we'd had two players on the roster like Rob Ray, Brad May, Michael Peca. 3. I was against the tank both years. Look at all the Number Ones Edmonton got; only McDavid turned out to be a superstar. If you have to rely on a draft pick rather than your deal-making GM, you're a pretty sorry organization. 4. Eichel IS supposed to be a guy that makes everyone around him better; he hasn't. We can trade him, if he isn't injured goods. 5. One factor in the Pegulas' favor is that their other team, the Bills, is successful. They can't be totally incompetent. 6. Fire Krueger; hire Tortorella when Columbus fires him. We do need a dictator coach to whip this team into shape.
Interesting clip. I am just an observer from over the atlantic so bear with me. You have put your finger on a couple of interesting facts: – there is inherent danger in establishing a loosing culture in a franchise. It contradicts everything you represent as a professional in any sport. As a pro you are a mercenary. There is professional honor connected to the fact that you earn a truckload of $ compared to every supporter that comes to your game to watch you play. Mess that up(you guys call that tanking)and you play with fire. Apart from KHL we dont have your closed NHL system. Loose too much and you go down in your AHL over here. I think that is a healthier system overall but thats merely a digression. -Your franchise right now is toxic,rotten and unprofessional. The last is the worst. There is reason to believe that Buffalo over the Pegula period have proven itself to be pretty much the worst team in the league regarding recruitment, scouting and development of the roster in general. When you guys over a 10-year period cant even reach a play-off that tells smth about the professionality of the franchise. Everybody can pick Eichel or McDavid. The hard part is to hit with a 7.r.pick. You guys suck in that category compared to teams like Pitts and Boston. Its proven beyond all reasonable doubt. Not only the GM gotta improve, the whole fukin franchise gotta improve -the toxic part can be more easily fixed. The roster got to be broken down and the whole locker room cleaned with smth strong to get some fresh air. Krüger gotta go. Eichel? The kid allready got more health issues than Crosby. Fuck this roster. If you were UFA, would you tell your agent Buffalo is fine unless your paycheck is monstrous atm?
You guys simply gotta start totally over. Think of yourself as a handicapped variant of Seattle-thats what you guys are.
You guys deserve better-you are not Thrasher-fans. Hope Buffalo gets up and running again-my impression is that a large part of the NHL fanbase suffer with you. All the best from Oslo, Norway
