@Maple Leafs de Toronto

1. Guy is very inconsistent, no defenseive skill. Remember when you guys lost to Boston and Marner didnt even bother to check the guy to slow the play down, expect that with Alex. You got another version of Marner who isn't as good and isn't consistent. Enjoy his AHL games, if you bring him up, don't expect much

  2. If you know the player wants to be in Toronto and you want depth without using cap space and you also don't have picks to get guys mid season, you get Alex Nylander.

  3. Dont think you can really say hes good when he was good for like 20 games in like 5 seasons

  4. Collect the Nylanders…Lol

As a Canuck fan, we've collected the brothers for some of the greats of the game(ie Steve Kariya, Fedor Federov), but they weren't even close in skill level to their brothers…

  5. As a CBJ fan, I really hate that we just let this guy walk. He seemed to come into his own here, and it sucks that we won't get to see if that would have continued.
Hope he's able to get back into the NHL sooner rather than later.

  6. He played well in Chicago the first year but he did not get enough ice time but his points showed he can put up points

  7. I'm very much in the boat of that I think he dosen't deserve to be in the AHL and this is a move to make Willy happy. Alex Nylander should be in the NHL

  8. 4:03 i remember taking a school trip to the boat show.
After a while of walking around and "absorbing educational material", me and a few classmates stumbled into an oval area with a bunch of seats.
Not being from Toronto or keeping up with the marlies a whole lot at the time, i thought: "huh, this kinda looks like an arena". I surveyed the area a bit: "hey those look like marlies logo's, and i recognize some of those names….. WHOLLY ****! Is this the marlies arena?! THEY MADE THE ARENA A POOL?!"
That was my first time being in there and it wasn't even for a game, just a wrong turn at a boat show. The only one that cared was me, my classmates were more interested in talking about how they hoped one of the people on kayaks (fitting i mention that here), would fall in the water so they could laugh.
Anywho, thanks for the memory refresher 👍

  9. Story continues he immediately went to the grocery store & bought a dozen eggs to balance on his shoulder so he can practice skating without breaking them !! Just like his brother !!

  10. I think its easy to say this is irrelevant based on Ho Sang and Bellows not signing, but I’d see Nylander has much higher upside than either of those guys(I still really wish Bellows got a shot). Could be a nice chemistry add to play some games if injuries happen, and its 0 risk, good move Braaaaad

  11. alex nylander has spent a lot more time as an AHLer than an NHLer lately. he had a fluke hot streak with columbus

  12. The unmentioned truth here is that Alex would have to clear waivers if he signs an NHL or two-way contract to get sent back down. So they want to make mighty sure they want him on the roster. Likely he is in if Cowan doesn't stay up or if Robertson doesn't sign/gets traded.

  13. As a pens fan who watched Alex a lot I can say, he’s definitely talented but he has the Kasperi Kapanen ability to just not put together the pieces

  14. This was a sneaky move by the Leafs. Even tho Marlies property. Marlies are Leafs property. They take him off the UFA. So once they figure out the cap as they could still sign him to an NHL-AHL two way deal. This was a good move. I think he can improve with the Leafs. Not on line 1 or Line 2. Maybe Line 3.

This is just imo. This was due to cap reason pretty much. Once they figure it out. Then they can sign him. I think that’s their plan.

  15. Don’t understand why this is just an AHL contract.

We should have a couple 2 way contracts available ?

Why we didn’t sign Bellows is a head scratcher. Liam Foudy was out there too. Signed a 2 way as well.

  16. MOST LIKELY, never going to play for the leafs, its an AHL contract, for an AHL level player

  17. Leafs management, staff decisions will forever be strange and somewhat dumb, no matter whos there…From 2018-2019 season,
Marlins will be his 9th team that he has played for… that should be a big red flag already…

  18. Alex Nylander has the same characteristics as his brother and dad, they are lazy, gutless cowards, and defensive liabilities. Enough said!
