To those that say Crosby is better than Lemieux just started watching hockey last Year
Bob Johnson died in November of that season not before the season started
It was after that series that all the big time bandwagon jerks came out. It was like seeing all those Dallas cowboys come out nowhere. San Antonio is bandwagon central, not Nashville county.
I hate Pittsburgh, the 92 Rangers team was their best team to not win the cup.
Can you do a quick video on athanasui? Like do you think the Canucks could offer sheet him
Cup win aside the Canucks will be better than the oilers and leafs in 2-3 years
Q: Why isn't Kevin Stevens in the HOF?
A: Cocaine
Dave Michayluk was interesting. He played 7 games in the playoffs that year. His last regular season game was in 1983.
For any Pens fans mad about THG slagging off the Civic Arena I will set the record straight. My dad worked at the Igloo for 30 years and still works at PPG. I worked there for a few seasons. The Igloo was an absolutely disgusting dump by the end. Roaches, mice, even friggin river rats running around.
Beyond hygiene it was horribly outdated. I worked in the kitchens. The Pens had to do pregame stretches and exercises right outside the kitchen. I ran food, I found myself pushing giant hot cupboards past the Pens players and could have easily smushed Sidney Crosby with a 200 pound metal box full of scalding hot food. The arena itself was losing out on concerts and shows all the time because it was ill equipped to accommodate modern sound and lighting equipment.
Bottom line, I loved the Igloo, I grew up there. The only tattoo I've ever seriously considered getting is one of the Civic Arena. But it was a rotting mess that needed replaced.
Can you do a short video on NHL players wearing unlucky numbers. For example Pavel Bure wearing number 96 and then switching back to wear number 10.
I always loved Shawm McEachern when I played NHL with my cousins around 2000(maybe 98-01), we'd do our own system and buy players with our own made up currency. I'd always get him and he'd always perform well in a 2nd or 3rd line.
Edit: So glad for him when I found out a few years back that he actually did get a cup with Penguins, b4 he went to Ottawa
Fuck you David Volek!
In '91 we kept waiting for the Pens to blow it, because they had always blown it. In '92 we kept waiting for them to blow it, because they'd had a tough year and they had to go through the Caps and Rangers. By '93 we were sure the Pens were the next incarnation of the '70s Canadiens and the '80s Islanders and Oilers combined…and THEN they blew it and didn't get back to a Final for 15 years. A version of the same thing happened after 2009, too. You don't count your Cups until they're actually won, because they might not be.
The 1992 Pens vs. the 1985 Oilers is my dream series.
92 Rangers were about to go up 3 games to 1 when Francis got a fluke goal and the rest is history. Rangers were the best team in the league in 92 but the Penguins got lucky.
Know why the Pens didn’t win more? They were all offense, once the clutch and grab era set in it made it about impossible for an offensive based team to win.
Imagine if the Penguins got to keep their great players and just trade away draft picks instead:
* Rob Brown
* Zarley Zalapski
* John Cullen
* Mark Recchi
* Paul Coffey
I also wonder why they didn’t get Michel Goulet and Peter Stastny at the trade deadline when the Nordiques traded them away.
8:45 One of the Penguins’ greatest teams.
I personally think about a team’s regular season record when decided on the greatest teams ever so ‘92 didn’t rank as highly than if I had just ranked them based on playoff performance.
