I was yelling at the TV on that Montreal PP goal. Trouba was perfectly positioned to make the play on Suzuki (Who waltzed around Lindgren like he wasn't there). but instead he he follows Newhook out of the crease and allows the score.
That first period was a classic. It reminds me of some boxers or UFC fighters that just wait patiently for that perfect counter punch. The Canadiens were flying to start the game but got the gas kicked right of them when we made them pay for their mistakes. We aren't even playing our best hockey and we are beating the dog sh*t out of respectable teams.

I'd agree so far that the Rangers offense does look better without Wheeler an Goody. Smith and Edstrom have been great. Edstrom made the play of the game last by beating the icing call to cancel it and fed Brod for the easy goal. However, with that being said. It's still waaaay to early to call them elite. Rangers haven't really played a good team yet so let's hold off on calling them elite and no, I don't consider the Leafs a top tier team.

Look i mean, you try to win the cup every year, HOWEVER. It feels different. The standards this team is setting for itself early are super telling. I have never seen Artemi Panarin look so dominant with the puck. The effort level of this entire team is all you could ask for. Like a bunch of hungry dogs. Pay Igor. We wont care during the parade.
The Rangers played a college team last night … don’t get your hopes up that they’re playing well. They haven’t played a decent team yet…Detroit, Utah , Montreal and Pittsburgh are all bottom of the barrel talent… our defense still sucks !! Trouba and Miller need to go !!
Best team in hockey right now, how long that lasts remains to be seen. There is always room for improvement, but if you’re not happy with this ranger team, then you’re never going to be happy. The cup is overrated for me personally because my name doesn’t go on it. As a fan give me hope quality and a chance to win every game, this team not only does that but has been the best time I have ever had in my 40 + years of watching rangers hockey. It’s a real joy to watch this team and I am proud of these boys for what they have achieved and extremely excited for the future of this franchise. It truly is a great time to be a rangers fan. Win or lose the cup I don’t get a day with it I am not getting a bonus. This team is worth the price tag 🏷️ Let’s go I am excited every game day. 😎 🍿
