This teams not fixable mid season on the fly if the players who remain dont buy into the system and all play beer league level intensity hockey.

  2. Right, I thought it was coach Gallant's fault??? This team is lazy and broken and Drury is the architect of it. He has fixed nothing during his tenure, his replacement needs to fix his mess.

  3. We're not playing hockey the way it's supposed to be played. Hard on the puck, two way hockey, sticks in the shooting and passing lanes, laying out to block shots, and finally the Three D's .

  4. Drury can stay but I'm hiring Messier to guide this team. Hire Messier as President and yes Quenneville as head coach. Bold moves yes but it's time. It's only been 31 years since the last cup.

  5. Who are the rangers even looking for in a trade? I mean realistically?

I think it’s just a matter of the team playing better, no?

  6. Shesterkin is only as good as the defense in front of him, and that is the worst in the league

  7. The Rangers cannot trade their way out of this. Drury isn’t the one who should be sending a message to the team, Lavi is. Healthy scratches of underperforming veterans, like Mika, Trouba, Lindgren and Miller should have already happened. A GM should always be open to trades to improve the team, but naming certain players is stupid and undermines the team. What type of return is he going to get for underperforming overpaid players?

  8. I don't understand GM Drury's behavior at all, with this indecisive rumor mongering and fumbling. The guy had over 900 NHL games, won the Cup, was the Rangers Captain… so what's with this?
Same for our Coach – won the Cup, coached tough guys like Ovechkin and Wilson
Same for Defensive Coach – Houseley's a HOF guy.
So where do we get this soft, complacent, underachieving, entitled blob we see?
If we can't make a series of major trades, why aren't the slackers either healthy scratches or on a rehab leave the way Igor was last year?
Can't do worse than losing 6 out of 7 in regulation – let the young guys play!

  9. Drury is playing with house money, he didn't put this team together except for Trick!
A dozen picks for 9 players and didn't resign a single one of them
Mikkola makes 2.5 Kpoke makes 3.8
Tarasenko also also won a Cup.

  10. HE did some stupid things in the way he communicates and issuing trade sheets. Can't blame the coach. Its players and management. Too much complacency.

  11. If the team is not playing with heart or grit, it leads to one person– the coach. If they are pissed at Drury that's OK, but they would not take it out on the coach if they respected him.

  12. I literally stopped watching and cancelled my subscription and will not be back until Mika is gone, I never liked him, get him out…..

  13. Drury started this fire then poured gasoline on it……but I have faith….Drury knows a thing or two about multimillion dollar players under performing…..

  14. These guys not being his guys is the exact reason why he will not be fired. With the salary cap going up and coming to the end of his contracts that he’s been stuck to is the exact time you get really grade his performance. He will at least get one to two more years before firing becomes an option unless they completely crap the bed which hasn’t happened yet. It’s classic New York though we feel the need to blame somebody feverishly as as well as as a sign of the times of instant gratification. Eventually, all that attitude will do is make people not want to work for you.

  15. Drury should definitely be on the hot seat… and before the coach.

He is responsible for the Mika signing, and anyone who thought signing an 8 year full NMC until a player is 37 was a good idea is just wrong. Trading away minor picks for a rental isn't the end of the world, but after years, the draft capital is non-existent now. The young talent in the pipeline is also below par… if Rempe is getting the call ups, that is pretty damning if he is the best player in the Wolfpack. Not to mention going around Goodrows M-NMC was a short sighted move… sure it is a business but that doesn't mean you have to be a clown about it. Leaking the failed Trouba trade is also a REALLY bad look. Responding to the slump but sending out a LEAGUE WIDE MEMO WITH PLAYERS NAMED was, in my opinion, a fireable offense by itself. He has locked the team into this mess for the foreseeable future… no draft capital, no young prospects, no potential trades, hella NMC, and a very leaky ship are all reasons to let him go… I'll die on this hill. A former player is not always good GM.

  16. Drury is now in his 4th year as GM and has done absolutely nothing to improve the team in any of the off-seasons. He's mortgaged the future on rentals that were of no help bringing the team closer to a championship. His personnel decisions have created negativity – abruptly firing Ramsay, waiving Goodrow, the Trouba fiasco, etc. No doubt that players aren't performing, but I have zero faith that Drury can make the moves that the team needs without destroying it. He should be the first casualty.
