Les Jets ont terminé la saison dernière au 4e rang de la ligue et avec l’un des meilleurs gardiens de but, Connor Hellebuyck, ce fut une énorme surprise lorsqu’ils sont entrés dans l’histoire de la LNH pour toutes les mauvaises raisons. Ils ont été la première équipe à accorder 5 buts lors de chacun de leurs 5 premiers matchs d’après-saison et à être à nouveau éliminés au premier tour. Cependant, après avoir commencé cette année 8-0 et avoir disputé le match de ce soir 13-1 lors de leurs 14 premiers matchs pour commencer la saison, ils sont entrés dans le match d’aujourd’hui contre les Stars de Dallas avec l’intention d’écrire l’histoire. Le record du meilleur début de saison dans la LNH était détenu par les Sénateurs d’Ottawa 2007-2008, qui ont présenté une fiche de 13-1 à leurs 14 premiers matchs. Alors que Winnipeg n’avait besoin que d’une victoire pour battre ce record, ils ont peut-être joué leur meilleur match de la saison. Their PDO is 1.072 and their 5v5 GF% is 68.3 yet their xGF% is only 51.3. Now that doesn't mean the Jets aren't truly a good team and nobody thought they were going to go 81-1. But there's obviously going to be a big regression here. The best they've shot in the last 5 years is 10.4% they're way over 14% right now. They've always been a strong defensive team but they're offense is just on a hot streak.

The Jets look so much better in their "fake retro" sweaters than in their new ones. They actually look like the Jets. I still hate that F-16 on an RCAF roundel logo because we never had F-16s. I would LOVE to see the Jets win the cup this year and I say that as a Habs fan.

Since Wheeler and Trouba left, no offence, loved them both, but Winnipeg seem to have really come together and gelled extremely tight as a team since… sometimes a change is worth the change
