Everyone who rants about Marner "not showing up" in the playoffs, but praising Nylander, clearly doesn't look at stats…
Marner- 57 career playoff games (2017-2024 playoff years), 50 points= 0.877 pts/game
Nylander- 54 career playoff games (2017-2024 playoff years), 43 points= .796 pts/game
Marner either tied or got more points than Nylander in 7 of the 8 years. I fail to see how Nylander "brings his game" while Marner "doesnt contribute", given these stats.
Heck, even Auston Matthews' stats are similar- 55 career playoff games (2017-2024 playoff years), 48 points= 0.872 pts/game, with Mitch tying or getting more points than Matthews in 2 of 8 years.
I realize that there is more to the game than just points- but the points are what wins the game, last time I checked. I also acknowledge that less than 1 point/game from your top performers simply doesn't cut it in the playoffs- they need to bring it well above 1pt/game in order to get anywhere. But, the narrative that Nylander and Matthews are doing their share, but Marner falls woefully short in the playoffs, simple isn't accurate. the "feel-o-meter" doesn't win the games, points do.

As a Preds fan, I'm not upset by the loss but by the fact Toronto didn't pour it on them. This team needs to be embarrassed so bad Trotz has no choice but to can Brunette.
There is something, I dunno, there's just something EXTRA special when 1) your team wins, 2) your favorite players get put on a line together, score 2 goals immediately, and every forward gets an assist, and 3) you have Marner, Matthews, Knies, Woll, AND Stolarz on your team! (I somehow got Matthews as the 9th player of 10 to pick in Round 1. Marner went like 35th or something crazy. Knies went all the way into the 100's, and Woll and Stolarz were both about the 15 and 20th goalies to be selected in my Fantasy League. I feel like I did very well! Little humble brag there lol) — GLG!!!!!

The best I've ever seen Mitch play was in the 22-23 season. A late season home game vs the Bruins. He was FLYING on the ice, blocking shots, winning pucks and his usual deadly delivery for 2 assists to Matthews that night to win a tight 2-1 game. Looked like best player on the ice without a doubt. I'm still waiting to see that Mitch appear in playoffs. Or even just bring that hunger and energy in a playoff elimination game.
