He did not deserve a match penalty for that! You can clearly see from the replay that there was no malicious intent on that boarding incident. However, i think players should probably completely refrain from any attempt to board players when they are that close to the boards

A high sticking with injury (comparable) is a double minor. The league needs some clarity on injuries. A little bloody lip vs out of action for weeks are both injuries in the refs eyes.
