They ruined Swayman with the exaggerated salary. He can never go back to the erstwhile psychological state that made him effective. He and Ullmark were an effective tandem because they were behind a disciplined team. Neither is ready to be stalwart backstops to a disorganized mediocre one. But give them time to adjust to their new realities… As far as the team is concerned, Marchand is no longer a good choice for Captain. He's become soggy toast since he was jammed into the square hole of being Mr. Responsible. Last season was the end of his usefulness at Captain… The whole team looks like a disjointed jumble of ineptitude right now. Don't see things turning around this season unless they make some drastic personnel changes.
