I only like this trade if 1 of 2 things happen.
1) we trade Fowler
2)Fowler becomes 7th dman.

Dumolin is on an expiring contract. He will be traded. Probably fowler too. This also gives additional protection for little Z and minty. His probable d partner.
We need teams to be scared of the blue line. Adding Trouba if he brings the physicality and the violence and he plays like Gudas in his first year this will be a great trade.
Me personally I like the Trouba trade he could mentor some of the younger D man and bring some toughness into the Ducks squad
It seems like there isn’t much talent willing to come to Anaheim so overpaying is just the new norm I guess. Fowler needs that trade. The young guys are ready and they need those opportunities.

I’m going to think positive on this one. Trouba has been in a miserable situation lately, and before that his spot was stolen by an elite kid coming up in Adam Fox. Fresh start after getting acclimated I have hope he can add a lot to this lineup. That a lot may also end up to be half retained for draft picks. But I hope he gets his game back and the Ducks are better for it
Yeah, this has cap floor retention written all over it "if" the Ducks trade Fowler and Gibson. It does make the blue line tougher, but unless there is a bit a resurgence in Trouba's game probably not much more than that…which for the team right now is still very much needed. At least with Gudas and Trouba other teams won't be able to walk all over the kids nearly as much. They might even get some more room to play with. We'll see. Not the worst trade in the world.

Time to trade Fowler. Give the young Lefties more ice time, especially with another added right shooting D. Maybe pick up another forward in exchange for Fowler.
Zelle is short and he is not physical player
Only bad thing about Trouba is his contract. Guy is light-years ahead of Vaakanainen. Trouba is an actual NHL defenseman while Vaakanainen is AHL level. Vaakanainen will only help Hartford wolfback.
I personally I like the trade. Now we just need to move Fowler
We will move Fowler , Doumilin has been great imo this year so I wouldn’t mind keeping him. Trouba is. A Good hockey player and let’s see if he can turn his game around

NY is the only winner in this one. I guess we were the only suckers to take him with his $8M salary. This only makes sense if we traded Fowler with this high salary…Fowler has NO passion to play the game anymore. This makes no sense. We need scoring and leadership. The Hockey experts are just laughing at us. Hope I’m wrong. Miss the old Ducks that had a bite and solid offense.

As long as Cam gets moved out soon (with respect) then this is a good trade. Change of scenery will have a big impact on Trouba I'm betting. Go Ducks!

We did them a solid taking his cap so they could sign shesterkin. Hopefully they can return it later down the line if needed.
This is a tremendous acquisition by the Ducks ..right handed defenseman who is a tough defender with something to prove…less attacks on younger players with him around …😊

If Ducks want to be tougher…we need to move Fowler and I hate say it…Terry. The Wild game…no one wants to step up. I have no issue with penalty on Vatrano roughing the Wild player when he kept trying to score after the whistle. Vatrano gets in a fight and Fowler cowardly skates away like he always does. He just needs to go or limit his ice time. I will take Helleson over Fowler any day!!!
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO CAN PUT SOME HITS ON THE ICE!! Maybe teams will start to respect the ducks and skate with their heads up a little more.

As a Rangers fan who wanted Trouba gone since we got him, I'll pray for you Ducks fans
The Ducks are third worst in the league for goals per game but eighth place in goals against. The problem for the Ducks the last several seasons is that they don't score goals, and Verbeek even said before the offseason that their priority was to get a top 4 forward. I don't see how Trouba helps the team at all. This could be just another example of trading a player for more picks (which everyone knows will could very possibly happen with Dumoulin, Vatrano, and Fowler) if Trouba is willing to waive his clause and allow him to be traded at the deadline. In short: the Ducks acquired Trouba but he doesn't actually address any of the actual problems the Ducks have (scoring goals being the main one) so getting him is pointless unless Verbeek trades him for picks just like he did with Lyubushkin last season and Klingberg the season before. Basically a lot of transactions but with no real tangible outcome for the Ducks at the end.
Get rid of Fowler ASAP and it's a decent move. Keep Fowler and it's mind-boggling.
