The beginning of this demise happened when Drury sided with the underachieving core of this team and fired Coach Gallant after the players QUIT in the playoffs. Easy "fix", fire the coach and fix nothing ! Drury is the problem…
This Team is pulling a MUTINY on their Fans theirs a big issue between the team and management and there is nothing wrong with the team this is all between Management and the team.
I think it's time you started covering the prospects and what their doing, instead of covering this awful Rangers team. Also, a lot of the younger core of players keep getting two year, prove it deals besides Laffy who got extended at the start of the season. So really none of the Rangers younger core is signed long term, another stupid choice by Drury

I keep hoping to grab my phone and see some Massive trade package putting the demo to the whole core , but nah i fully expect to lose to the sabres tonight .
Yogi Berra said of baseball, "90% of the game is half mental". I think we're seeing this played out right now with the Rangers . Their confidence is totally shot, and I don't know how they turn it around. I also think Drury has made it worse with the way he hard balled Trouba and Goodrow off the team, then threatened to trade Kreider. I bet the Rangers will start to appear on player's no-trade lists after the way he treated them.
Other teams are battling key injuries… lack of veteran players…lack of skill players.
Rangers have none of these excuses. They simply have lost pride in what they are doing and lost the drive to win. Soft and complacent, they accept losing with a shrug.
And there are no consequences. None. As if this team going 2 – 8 is fine.
Why aren't Miller and Z being given the same sabbatical to work with coaches as Igor had?
Why aren't others sitting as healthy scratches with Rempe, Harpur, Ruhwedel, Othmann called up from Hartford? At least fans would see effort. defense, hitting and fighting…for a change.
Even at the beginning of the season when we were winning i thought to myself " our defense is atrocious". Now were all seeing it play out. Mika is a disaster, Lindgren has lost his edge, and as much as i loved Miller, hes been a total let down

I got two moves that can turn this team around and GM Drury can save his job. Hire Joel Quenneville as head coach and trade for Stamkos.
At what point to you start blaming the players instead of the coaches and front office they had how many coaches in a few years.. the core is the problem they haven’t won anything with these guys. And president trophy isn’t winning. The culture is horrible
A commitment to defence means a commitment to physicality.Opposing defencemen must be forechecked incessantly.If a team finds it hard to move out of the D zone it logically follows that it will find it more difficult to enter the O zone.The Rangers are living proof of this.
The coaching staff must insist on this or bench players like Zibanejad who coasts around the ice like a ballerina at times. Increased physicality does not mean every player must be ready to fight but every player should make it their responsibility to piss the other team off whenever they hit the ice This means that the Rangers can then compete in the playoffs because this physicality has become entrenched in their team identity.
The St. Louis Blues a few years back were in the same situation as us now spiraling out of a playoff spot so in January they fired their coach hired Berube and the rest is history. I think we can follow that same path. Hire Quenneville and Trade for Stamkos and give him the "C"
I watch all the games and I think the teems they played were playing over their heads. Rangers need more Canadian players.
Players who aren't there 100% shouldn't put on the Jersey. If all they are doing is collecting a paycheck then thats just rent seeking behavior. THat isnt a winning team. Management shares blame in this. Plus its worse when they tune out the coach. Unless their play improves there is no reason to reject what the coach is trying to teach you. They are just uncoachable and useless.
This all went south when Drury released Goodrow. I think he was quiet captain in the room.
When the Rangers went to the Finals their biggest problem was scoring and creating chances, they had good defense and they were a shot blocking machine. Sad that the King never won the cup
