My father, a lifelong Pittsburgher, does not often "compliment" another team's best player, but the moment Grzelcyk pinched he audibly gasped and said, "you don't pinch again Nathan Mackinnon" and then hurdled a bevy of insults at "Grizzle-check".
Stop changing the power play units it isn’t working why is Hayes and Grzelcyk on unit one 🤯🤯🤯 and not G actually insane🤦🏻♂️
DK, why hasn’t Sully been asked what playing Grzelcyk does for this team. What would be his response? How could he objectively justify playing him over others?
Gryz was signed for who knows what reason. But is a potential trade asset. I wonder if playing him is to build the ability to trade him.
Jarry to build tradability too
A bunch of players were brought in by dubas. And they are now there for one purpose to try and trade them. I think in many ways they are in the lineup so that they can become tradable. I put this on divas for poor roster decisions.
Imagine every move with exception of one or two (that’s like 8 moves, 8 players) are benched. All guys the GM brought in
It seems that sullys MO has been to say one thing and continue to do the same. " we play the players who give us the best……blah" only to play the same duds over and over. It would be more beneficial (imo) to inject players like jesse p., gruden, ponomorov, kral etc. now and let them make some mistakes and learn, then keeping the vets in who are veteran enough to know not to make those mistakes but make them any way. It's crazy town. There is no reason our 4th line has to be so expensive and under performing. A line of jesse p.- gruden- ponomorov (just as an example) would be an energy line and cost way less than the 5-6 million dollar 4th line they've been rolling out. Total mismanagement, but everything 👌.
Aaaaand the real Penguins return. Sullivan gone now!!! It's the only way to start any kind of return to competence much less competitiveness

Ask what is the objective in playing the games? Winning should be the answer not in just playing the “old” guys .
Jarry is not good – but he's also hung out to dry like a wet rag. The first goal summed up the season perfectly. They still gave up a ton of chances on the little win streak, the mask slipped off again last night.
I saw grzelyck getting beat by MacKinnon and knew it was coming. I saw Erik Karlsson follow Letang into the corner leaving the near side post and knew it was coming. When the team fails infront of Jarry, there's only so much time before the opportunity to equal goals is past. He held them off as long as he could. We couldn't handle the puck it it was glued to our stick!!! IN WHAT WORLD IS JARRY THE ISSUE IN THIS GAME!?!? Absolute BS if we keep turning it over in EVERY SINGLE ZONE on the ice! What's is he supposed to do!?!?! The team HUNG HIM OUT TO DRY. I dont wanna hear a single word from Sullivan about Jarry if he keeps playing that ab-so-lute LOWLIFE Grzelyck. And i definitely don't wanna hear some "reporter" clearly too afraid to ask Sullivan the hard question about him. To go as far as to ask "what did you see in matt" is the equivalent of rolling over and showing your belly to ensure it's yellow. Insanity is what we are watching. The same old thing happening as if expecting something else to happen.

Puljujärvi-O Connor-Poulin line was strong and good energy.
FOr the first time in my life i feel apathetic towards watching the pens games. Now though, its like management isnt doing everything they need to do to win. Same coach, same old players, same awful goalie, same system same comments after the game same same same. i just dont care
I highly doubt they play the young guys until Sully is gone.
2 years ago, the Pens and the Caps both missed the playoffs. Last year, the Pens just missed and the Caps scraped in (with a negative goal differential). This year, the Caps are league leaders.
Genuinel question: What are the differences between the way these teams have retooled in the last seasons?

we got pumped 6 to 2. embarrassing. wasn't even close. its mind boggling to me that Sully is still here. doesn't matter if he is an ok coach. something has to give.

Neither is going to win games
They suck. Hard to take, but they suck. They went so far back to their drunken beer-league gaff passes and non-clears. The Pens can always turn something into nothing with endless turnovers. Sid may be injured- he’s not playing well and his passing is as moronic as Malkin or Karlsson
Aaaaaaanddd, nothing changes when nothing changes. Not choosing to change the important parts is choosing to accept them.
I took a few games off as I was away for vacation and relied on the Daily Shot for my game breakdowns. They sounded like they somewhat turned a corner, sounded like they were getting away with some things, but generally sounded like baby steps were made. I did watch the Toronto game, a soft team constructed by……ahhh Dubas, who is flashy but stumbles against gritty play, but none the less the Penguins played well. Now bring Colorado to town, they are bigger and faster, and much better then the record suggests. DK, you are right, its the same guys, the same line up, and I could go on a binge attack on Sullivan and Dubas, but why? One thing that was clear last night and has been exposed many times is our top lines do not match up with top teams, simply put, Rust and Rakkell are not line one guys on any other team. They may be among the best on the Penguins but seriously, they'd be lucky to get on many teams line 3. and it shows, and against popular opinion, Sid looked checked out for much of the game……you can hear if swearing on the ice in frustration. There are two guys in the lineup that are crashing and banging, playing with a ton of heart that I would insert next to Sid and that in Lizotte and Bunting, both can puck handle, possess the puck, score, and insert energy into a lifeless line 5 on 5. With Montreal and Ottawa coming, they should win both but probaly get at least a split, you'd hope, and so what! All this recent hot streak did is create delusion that this team can compete, and justify Sullivan and Dubas's decisions! This team is far from fixed, and looking at all the empty seats in Pittsburgh, their season ticket holders seem to have better things to do then sit through games like last night.
this is why I play NHL 25…I can make the Pens have an actual logical roster.
Jarry stinks. That's just the way it is. Those 6 games were just a spurt of luck. I don't think they'll win more than 25 games this year unless by some miracle they can turn it around
DK, I don't know if this has any meaning. It seems to me if the pens can't score, they can't win … . I would like to see them be more aggressive taking the puck away and playing keep away. It's as though they go back on their heels and let the other team do what they want. Easy enough to say, not do. If they are only gonna score 1 or 2, they probably aren't gonna win. Much better chance at 4 or 5. Is asking for 2 goals a period too much to ask? I think being offensively will make them better defensively.
It's what you get from Jarry. He gets a great game and all the Jarry fanboys jump up and say all-star and then he sucks for the next 6. Just buy him out and get Blomqvist back.
I’m with you grisleSUCK NEEDS TO GO. Why does Sullivan do nothing about him being so awful. Like you said the fourth line is trash . We have so many zombie players.. people who seem slow and lost.. it’s painful. This team needs a real shakeup

I find my self infuriated when I see the starting lineup before every game. I will not watch another game until Grzelcyk, Nieto, and Accari are out, and Pulijarvi is in.

The attendance (15,362) last night. Typical of most home games lately. The boos are started to rain more down with poor play. Their joke of a Power Play couldn't even get into the O-Zone to even get set up one time. Letang & Karlsson both got lost off to the side of the net near the boards on 1 goal. How did they both get out there together? /s Such malaise on this team most nights abound.
