  1. Obviously Columbus announcers. 1:06 you see the elbow on the head… it was there through the hit. It started up high, and as the Flyer guy went down, the elbow stayed with his face like it was planted there. Looking forward to see what the league says about it. I guess Seeler made him pay… NOT.

  2. Elbow to the shoulder. Note that the NHL rulebook doesn't specify that the elbow has to hit the head to be a penalty. I think the 2-minutes was the appropriate call. Olivier doesn't hit Seeler's head, but his elbow needs to stay tucked right through contact like it is at 1:26 and not extended like it is at 1:29. It's not a major because the injury is due to the head into the glass which was just bad luck and not because of the elbow. Also, a lot of the result is due to Seeler changing his angle by stopping right before the hit, resulting in him bending down and turning.

  3. Did Philly cut Deslauriers are what? Some needs to step up and give Olivier a beating that dude is the bully of the NHL right now.

  4. Just a hard hit. Confused as how you call an elbowing penalty on a guy who has his arm tucked to his body on impact

  5. Clean hit. Anyone whining about that should just go watch the new girls league, they made it just for you …

  6. Gotta love how ridiculously inconsistent the officiating is in this league. Tim Peel was publicly sacrificed for this crap. Lifts his arm and then has to save face by manufacturing a penalty on a textbook clean hit.

  7. Hit looked good. Unfortunately the Flyers guys head hit the glass. 2 minutes is a perfect review. + a fight. Excellent.
Pens fan who loves Olivier highlights.

  8. Clean hit, but he's a bum for going after a 5'8" rookie like that. Seeler may not be a great fighter, but he'll fight anyone.

  9. Jody Shelley (CBJ color commentary) was exactly right – Andrae stopped skating right before the hit. That makes it look (at full speed) like Olivier charged him. If Andrae skates through and takes the check, it's a non-issue, shoulder to shoulder hit. That's why Olivier was incredulous right after the hit.
