  1. Too bad we traded the Deweys… We could use Dewar and Duhaime on special teams right now

  2. Panthers fan here and I respect the hell out of what the Wild are doing this season. Never thought Kaprisov would put up these kinds of numbers.

  3. It's interesting to hear that Kaprizov gets overlooked because he's on the Wild. We are talking about a player playing in "The State of Hockey."

  4. Would love to see a breakdown of the canucks this season road games vs home games crazy road record and they cannot win a home game this year

  5. 6:40 The Kings rank above the Wild in several of the metrics your citing, can the Kings please get some love from this channel? 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 (from a Kings fan & Hockey Psychology subscriber)

  6. Wild has playoff problem. They manage to get there but when the real games begin they suck. They can't handle bigger and stronger teams in playoffs. There's too much small players who can't do playoffs. That's why regular season is only season to watch.

  7. Unfortunately, none of this will matter in June. We all know the Wild will NEVER win a cup, just like all the rest of the other loser MN franchises

Except for the Los Angeles Kings, who've easily handled Minnesota this season with a dominating 5-1 drubbing on 11/05/24 and another crushing win on 12/07/24, 4-1.
That's a combined monster score of 9-2, Kings over Minnesota.
How about a little truth in your vids, huh?

  9. Damn, I thought you were going to talk about how bad reffing has gotten, like the call on Boeser last night.

  10. Okay, okay. Let's not get too excited folk. Granted, they are doing some good things. Mainly, Filip Gustavsson has rebounded from a very mediocre season he had last season, which is partially due to the "D" playing better, also. Along with Kirill Kaprizov having a monster year, so far. However, before we start making plans for a deep playoff run, let's take a closer look at how they are doing against upper-tier teams. You know, the type of teams they will have to face in the playoffs. Teams like… oh, let's say the Winnipeg Jets, Dallas Stars, Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers… You know, quality teams with scoring depth, have good D-men, and good goaltending. The qualities that make for a deep run in the playoffs and legitimate Stanley Cup contenders. Yes, I know, currently Edmonton doesn't really have that good of goaltending. They didn't last year either, and yet they still got to a game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. They're the exception that proves the rule. However, I digress. Looking at how the Wild have fared so far against higher quality competition, the results aren't as encouraging. Against those teams previously mentioned, they are a paltry 1 and 5 against them (amusing how in the video he referenced a couple of instances "against a damn good team like Winnipeg" of how good the Wild were doing, since the Wild have yet to win a game against them this season); and they have yet to play against the Pacific Division-leading Golden Knights, or the perennial contender Colorado Avalanche – whom they went 0-4 against last year.
I agree they are having a really good season so far. However, we've seen something similar in the past. Didn't they have 106 points while winning a then-franchise record 49 games in 2016-17, only to make a one round-and-done appearance in the playoffs losing to a lower seeded team? Didn't they have 113 points in 2021-22, but get bounced by the lower seeded Blues in the first round of the playoffs?
To be clear, I'm not hating on the Wild. I'm enjoying this season just as much as any fan. However, I am tempering my expectations and not quite buying into the all the hype and the only somewhat justified love that is being thrown at them. IF, emphasis on the "IF", the Wild at the end of the season have at least a .500 record against the upper-tier teams of the league, then maybe, just maybe, I'll be willing to believe they might actually make it past the first round of the playoffs,

  11. This was a phenomenal video breakdown! Thank you! As a minnesota fan who watched Kaprisov's journey from the Olympics to now its really awesome seeing how consistently entertaining he is. Not to mention he has a superstar mindset. Dude is laser focused and wants his team to win more than anything. Im gonna keep my eye out for those systems you mentioned. Your clips and editing made it really easy to understand. Bravo!

  12. I would love for Fleury to lift the cup again with, and this time with the Wild, for his final season

  13. Middleton & Faber shutting down that rush was so sweet to watch. I've been playing D for about a decade now, and only recently have I been able to figure out the right timing & motion to throw off a forward. When you step to one side and a second later hear the whistle for off sides… so delicious hehe

  14. I've loved watching this team. I haven't seen anything like it in my time watching the Minnesota wild. However there's some things Id like to point out that have to be improved.

    1. Special teams. The wilds PK is abysmal, and the PP is spotty. The PK was mostly the reason we lost the last two series that we played vs STL and DAL. Thankfully Hynes has made the wild a much more disciplined team that doesn't take stupid penalties as often as they did under Dean Evason, but you can still definitely see how shaky the penalty kill is. The powerplay just needs to be more consistent,. and I think with time it will get better.

    2. Depth scoring. Kirill Kaprizov has had an amazing season that puts him up into superstar territory IMO. However his line is doing majority of the scoring, and the other lines are inconsistent offensively. The wild have had some good teams, but when Kaprizov gets shut down like in the series against DAL or VGK the teams offense isn't great. Sure Boldy is having a great season, and Rossi has developed into a great center, but Kaprizov is why this team is one of the best in the NHL standings wise. If Billy Guerin could make a trade this offseason for a scoring forward like Brock Nelson, I would be way more confident in this teams ability to go seriously go toe to toe with Winnipeg and Dallas. Sure Marcus Johannson has been producing more than last season, but he is very inconsistent offensively and doesn't forecheck. Also it would be really nice if Yakov Trenin and Marat Khusnutdinov could do more offensively. Marat is statistically the worst forward in the NHL offensively. They dont need to be scoring at a ridiculous pace, but a little more help would go a long way.
