That off side call isn't in the spirit of why they added the off side review. The inch Matthews was over the line did not effect the goal. The offside review was added because someone scored a goal while offside by like 5 feet. That makes sense.

Detroithas been burned a couple times by the ol offside review, so I have no sympathy that one finally went Detroits way
In the wings defense, this is one of the few games this season where they any sort of effort outside the usual players. Also not a fan of marners goal being called back. If the refs missed it real time cause it was that close and the goal happened nearly 15 seconds after the zone entry, then it didn’t impact the play.
Leafs were playing great without Matthew’s. Not so much since he’s been back. Still some lagging issues? He’s got 10 goals 10 assists and is +1. Not spectacular. If he’s hot you get lots of goals, if he’s not well we see what’s happening now as the whole team seems to sit back / mediocre. Maybe the ‘C’ for #34 was a bad idea.

We DO NOT need to add an arbitrary time limit to a very clear offsides rule. Idk why people care that 1 out of 250 reviews take 15 minutes, sometimes they're hard to get right. People would rather they get it wrong? If you're impatient go browse on your phone or get a drink or take a pee or something. STAY. ONSIDE. YES EVEN YOUR TOES STEVE!!!!! The fact you are trying to have offsides goals count as goals is actually a problematic take that needs to stop gaining momentum. Either advocate for getting rid of all reviews entirely, or you use them to try your best to get the call right even if it takes 10 minutes.

Redwings fan living in Leafs territory watching the game with buddies. Good game with lots of action at both ends but fully expecting a bad Wings penalty in the last 5 minutes of the 3rd, Leafs tie it up and possibly go to OT to give the lowly Wings a single point. But no! Wings win! And that's how my buddies had a bad Saturday night.
