Respectfully, Owen power was drafted 1st overall, and got paid like it. He shouldn’t need a dad to pair with. There is a highlight reel of 100 goals against with Power having a dumb look on his face looking at the man he should’ve checked. He hasn’t missed one game in 200 due to injury because he has never touched another human.
On MOST of our wimpy kids who make us lose. I would agree. Not the giant man who plays weak.
Anyone who watches Power will clearly see how passive he is in his own end. He's really bad when he has any pressure at all. He really has a ton of growing up to do for the NHL game. Not that the coaches aren't trying, but he really appears to be a slow learner. Nice guy, but paid way too early in hopes of developing quickly. We would do better with Benson on dee actually lmao. Now Benson is amazing! Smallest guy on the ice with the most energy and the biggest heart. FEARLESS
If the sabres had a hallway competent GM, Power would have spent a year or two in Rochester along with other players.

Power's always been overrated. This is exactly what I expected he'd become when he was a prospect. He's always been a strong offensive player who is a great passer and really good transitioning the puck up the ice. He's also always been very lackluster defensively but his defensive was overrated cause he's 6 foot 6 every time he steps foot on the ice
Also I missed a spot. Owen has played 200 games. Lindy Ruff in the last 30 of them in no way is coaching him to let passes across on 2 on 1s and never take a body ever.
Maybe he makes the Hall of Fame when he plays for another team. But I’m not blaming the Sabres for the fact that he stinks on the Sabres now. Other players yes. Him no.
He plays soft, but the Sabres having the worst PP & trying to play perimiter hockey has been the worst part of this slide. Watch them next time you will see how they know they are covered and not move to open themselves up or create an opportunity. They are top 10 in the league for Offensive zone time, but poorly utilize it.

He'll be fine. He's never been a defensive defender, his offensive underlyings are fine. His defense can be developed.

It suck’s but you have to be patient with a young 6-6, mobile defensemen. The mistake was not doing a nice bridge deal for him. If you decide to trade him you are gonna come to regret it.
Kevin Adams is way out of his depth. He makes pathetic excuses for players not signing. He also offers young guys huge contracts off the back of a half decent season. Nothing will change whilst he's at the helm.
Adams blew it again getting rid of Mitts and Skinny and doing nothing. Should have kept Skinny around one more year. Sabres sinking and again Adams does nothing. Missed it by one point a couple years ago bc Adams did nothing. Terry has everyone on a leash it’s a gd joke.
I've said it once I'll say it again. The Buffalo Sabres have been the best professional NHL hockey team, bar none. I mean the best NHL team that supplies top notch players to other NHL teams so that they can help that team win the Stanley Cup.
The problem with the team is that all of the “core” players aren’t playing to their potential. Quinn and Cozens have been horrible. Peterka and Power have both taken steps backwards when we needed them to really take a step forward. Thompson is a turn over machine and simply just not a number one center. The Sabres best players have been McLeod, Benson, and Zucker which are all bottom 6 players.
power should never be killing penalties…not only that, they fire granato but keep his assistant coach who happens to be the defensive coach…why wouldn't they bring in an ex NHL defenseman to teach/coach these young guys? it's a head scratcher. Adam's had zero experience as a GM and this is a job that you can't learn on the fly…a lot the blame should be put on Pegula…

Another problem with power is that he spends too much time on the ice. He doesn't understand when to come off the ice, and he gets tired and trapped. Top 3 d-men average 24, 23, and 22 minutes. Over the game, they're going up against fresher opponents.
Na, power has been awful in the d zone, should watch games before judging. trading him would be awful tho, we're pretty stuck for now
