This team has a core is over. Bringing in a guy or two isn't going to change much

this is verging on magical thinking. This is not like making trades in NHL 25 Franchise mode.
Only going into a full rebuild mode can all these issues with the Rangers organization be resolved. Coaches, the GM and some players need to go. I didn't expect the Rangers to fall off like they did.
There is zero chance Ottawa trades Tkachuk … Especially not for Laff, you will need consider moving the likes of Fox for them to even listen
Ah, I believe everyone is forgetting how the Rangers basically forced Trouba out of NY and players around the league aren't pleased by this. So signing future free agents or, convincing the players the Rangers trade for to stay isn't going to be easy. Drury created a toxic locker room environment because of what happened to Trouba, so only firing Drury, will players be more inclined to play for the Rangers. Right now, it's going to hard. Trouba is well respected in the league and there was a reason he was made captain. What he said publicly about how the Rangers Organization treated him, do you honestly think other players will really want to play for the Rangers under Drury and Lavi? I get that Trouba needed to be moved but the way it happened was the worst possible way to do it.
What the fuck how aging Stamkos gonna help in the toughness department. Go get Trent Frederic for Kreider. Boston is listening
They dont deserve to wear the blue jersey. Mika was tier 2 at best. We dont really have a tier 1 player. The lack of physicality hurts them. Mika is so afraid to get hit he creates turnovers. Send him to hartford and he will be a top line superstar.
The Rangers need new leadership and right now there is none both the offense and defense are failing dramatically and they are losing their spunk. No i hear many complain about Igor which gets no help from his core so he has to make saves that are sometimes successful and other times unsuccessful don't blame the goaltender watch the game closely and you will see the confusion between the core , either way this Ranger team shows up to each game thinking it's gonna be served a win on a platter well guess what reality has set in and they are in a embarrassing situation the season is at a lost
After the last dozen games, I honestly doubt that even BOTH these trades would change this season. For one thing, neither addresses our worst flaw – no defense. For another, both Ottawa and Nashville are also underachieving teams… anyone imagine they'd trade their stars for our duds? Most likely they'd demand Cuylle, Mancini, Berard…mortgage our future? Again?
This is substantially the same team that, just months ago, brought home the Presidents Trophy. The problems,and the solutions, are in the room.
Consider: More healthy scratches. More AHL call ups. Sad to say – consider letting Housely go as defense is terrible.

The "core" has "decided" to make it impossible to pull this off (Tkachuk) by giving up on their season apparently.
And Ottawa has already passed the awful Rangers in the standings. So, why would they listen to the Rangers at this point?
Each embarrassing loss makes any kind of blockbuster trade impossible because who would want to get anyone of the Rangers elite players if 1) they don't want to play elsewhere and 2) they drag their feet when the going gets tough.
In other words, and it's very sad if I'm right, the best "no trade clause" is to play like sh…. Then nobody would trade for you in the first place.

Start with an overhaul by firing GM & coach. Bring in Messier as GM & possibly Quennville as coach. See how the players respond & if the response is poor start looking into trade possibilities. Rather trade for JT Miller than Stamkos at this point.

Tbh I don’t think Drury is gonna take in any big assets. I think he’s gonna play Othman and Rempe soon and wait till after season to sign big free agent for free
This is considered tampering , arguably extreme soft tampering.
I have no clue why anybody would want stamkos….the guy is struggling so much and has a terrible contract, it would make everything 10x worse. And tkachuk is not getting traded!! I rather go after guys like Mikko Rantanen!!! He is a free agent next year and there's a slight possibility the avalanche may trade him this dead line!!!

Discussing a massive trade is a pretty pointless exercise. We pretend we can get rid of players who are no good and get a return on top line performers. If you want a player like Rantanen you will have to return value for value, especially to a team that is a cup contender. If the cost is Lafrenière, Miller and 2 or 3 draft picks, you will make the Rangers a poorer team. Colorado,will not let him go for a 4th liner and a 6th round pick.
Brady isn't available, not sure if Stammer is either but he is not the solution
