1. I've been wanting to get a new ranger jersey for a few years I just have no attachment to any current players , this team has no identity no "brand" of hockey , there is no this is ranger hockey other than a goalie standing on their head . I think I'm just gonna get a Beukaboom jersey .

  2. We will never know the real reason but it's almost as though they are pulling a MUTINY this was all of a sudden and it's not one player but several that play with no spirit and for the salary they make they are not producing.

  3. The handwriting has been on the wall for a few years now with this team. It didn't work, time to.blow it up for another rebuild.

  4. Absolutely right… and players not giving their all when getting huge salaries should most of the blame. But management blame as well – very little effort to improve the team in the off season. Now these incessant rumors by management of possible trades just undermines any remaining morale…who wants to get hurt for a team that neither wants nor respects you?
Sit the slackers. Let Othmann, Berard, Rempe, Harpur, Mancini play – at least we'll see effort every shift, actual hitting, real fights vs doggie paddling scrums.
Maybe have Z and Miller take a sabbatical with coaches like igor got last year.

  5. If the Rangers don't figure this out then it's time for another rebuild. Berard, Othmann, Mancini, Sykora, Cuylle, Kaako, and Perrault are the future of this team

  6. The one problem everyone is forgetting about is, there is no way Igor will re-sign with the Rangers if they don't improve the defense in front of him. Hell, no top goalie would want to play with the Rangers current defense in front of them. We need a type of mini rebuild. Our Veterans haven't been great and the Canes game just proved that if you play physical hockey, the Rangers will fold quickly.

  7. This team is worst than I thought I thought we could make the playoffs but it’s looking like an early draft pick

  8. This is on the players, but it’s still 100% on Drury if that makes sense…

  9. Edmonton was in last place and went to game 7 of the Stanley Cup. Damn man, I’m sick of people losing it after a bad week and a half holy shit there’s 82 games.

  10. It was virtually impossible to make an offseason move because of too many long term, bloated, no-trade contracts currently that hamstring management. At this point center ice is a major concern along with defense. Chytil is very injury prone unfortunately. Mika looks tired & dragged out. But what in hell is going on with Trochek? Disturbingly he seems to have fallen of a cliff.

  11. Have never thought this core was going to win a Cup, although, if ever it were to happen, last year was the one. Unfortunately we had a seemingly undropable Captain playing like a beer leaguer amidst other issues, and it wasn't to be.

Have always stood by the original statement – this core as constructed wasn't winning it all.

  12. This team stinks there getting abused by the flyers in the first 4 minutes. At what point do you start benching guys or healthy scratching these guys. Big changes need to be made and I don’t wanna hear ohh you can’t trade krieider he’s been on the team for so long give a break who cares I wanna see this team win and win another cup before I’m dead. Everyone and anyone should be available if it makes this team better.

  13. I'm watching the game right now we need to trade Miller Zab Kap Igor Smith and the announcers Sam and Joe.

  14. When a star fails to step up with the game on the line send their sorry ass down to the minors. And leave them there until they show they can perform with the game on the line.

  15. Yeah, yeah, yeah…the roster is built like this and that, whatever. They are flat out not competing! Sure we could use improvements but if x amount of players don't want to play what difference does it make if we trade one or two of them?! Clearly they're not going to be scared into playing, it's gotta be them vs. Drury right?

  16. Just watched the Rangers lose their 5th straight. I have to agree, this team (At least right now) just doesn't have what it takes to win it all. IMO, we shouldn't go chasing a big star player in the vain hope of getting there. I think a serious retool is in order, something that can't be done during the season. We've got some really great young talent coming up and some great veterans, but we need to get rid of several weak links.

  17. Fuck this team, I am tired of people being one year fans telling me what a fan should be like. Been following, cheering on this team since 1993. All you that says chill out, fuck you. I don't give a fuck. You call me what you want. I had enough. Fuck you.

  18. They had to improve the roster over the offseason in order to be a legit Cup contender, because the FLA series showed clearly that the roster lacked good enough defense and the necessary grit and toughness. They couldn't or didn't do much over the off-season. Now Mika is MIA, Trouba is even worse than he was last year, and here we are. And the rest of the division has gotten much better. They may well not make the playoffs.

  19. Rangers fans need to come to terms with the reality everyone seems to ignore. This team was never good enough to win the cup. They’re built for regular season games but not to win the cup. Every trip to the ECF has ended the same way; #1 lack of physicality #2 top guys disappear and #3 over reliance on the goalie. Rangers were beaten into the ground last year in the Florida series. That was the wake up call, and instead they chose to run it back. That Florida series screamed trades and change. To say they were able to win the cup is stupid, I’m sorry, but we all know the defense is poor, no forecheck, and no passion. Drury messed up by not blowing up the team during the summer, and he didn’t, now things are worse. That’s the reality, this team and this core was never going to do it. They don’t have the killer instinct and they don’t want it bad enough. That’s the reality. Like Shoresy says “they don’t hate to lose”.

  20. I keep hearing "the Rangers need to make a trade" but I don't think people understand… that trade is never coming…

    1. There are no top defensemen available right now from any team.

    2. They will require a Kings ransom to acquire. (Sellers Market and everyone knows the Rangers are desperate because Drury is a fucking clown).

    3. The pieces that should be leaving are playing so God awful that no one will want them… who would take Trouba without also taking prospects? No one.

    4. I don't think the Rangers can trade their way out of terrible morale… the organization did Goodrow dirty and then tried to (and failed) to do Trouba dirty. Mika, Panarin, Krieder, and everyone else sees that and knows it is only a matter of time…

I don't think firing Lav is the right move at all… after like a dozen head coaches the issue is clearly the players and Drury.

Drury should probably be out the door soon based solely on how unprofessional he has been… yea announce the world that you would fire Lav the second another coach becomes available… an actual clown show…

Edit: The only trades I can see coming are at the deadline when the Predators start selling everyone off.

  21. Dury has not provided his coaches the type of players that have the fire in them to win a cup. Moreover, many of them play a very soft style. They don't show emotion or seem to be interested in giving the extra effort.

You can find players who make less money talent to play better to push the envelope to win.

  22. Best thing for this team is to lose. We’ve been playing terrible all year and the only way to improve is to stop hiding behind a fraudulent record and make changes.

  23. When I saw Mika miss that wide open net to tie the game I thought: rut ro Rastro! Mika is showing up Laviolette. I think he has lost the locker room. They should have shitcanned Laviolette and scooped Monty when they had the chance.

In any event, I am a Stars season ticket holder and would love to take Mika off your hands and put him with Benn and Stankoven. That line would ROCK!

What would it take? How about Bourque, Lundkvist, and a second round pick? You retain half his salary for this year. You may laugh at Lundkvist, but he can actually skate which is more than we can say about Trouba. And Bourque is going to be a player, he just needs more experience. The problem is the Stars are in "win now" mode and he is the weakest link.

  24. Obviously the players are playing and not performing, but the continued lackluster effort points to a deeper problem that I believe originates with Drury. Trying to trade Trouba, failing, and then expecting him to continue as captain is absurd. Waiving Goodrow, a team leader who had just come off a fantastic playoff performance, was a hit to team morale. Going to arbitration with Lindgren over small dollars for a one-year extension sent the message that he won't be back. Rather than call a team meeting to discuss performance and expectations, he sent a memo to the league. It's too easy to think the players should just ignore all this and just play, but they're people, and playing professional hockey in the NHL requires 100%+, night after night. Anyone who understands managing staff would see the issue from a mile away. Nobody wants to work in an environment where they're not wanted. Drury has caused cancer.
