Only two points separate the Rangers and being at the bottom of the metro division. 3-10 the past 13 games, while things could turn around it's not likely as the players are refusing to play hard for the current Rangers management. I thought before the start of the season that this was the year we should go for it. All the nonsense with Trouba, then trading him a lot earlier than most thought after not managing in the summer – putting a goalie on over 11m and Lafs new deal which both start next season – this surely has to be the year (even with this disastrous run) that we now take a punt. All that clear cap and the amount we – could – have at the deadline. Drury surely has to add or shake up the roster and add at the same time.
The Rangers are about as hopeless as Buffalo right now. They should've concentrated on their prospect pool but this has been the franchise's M.O. for the better part of 3 decades. Igor's contract is going to age like spoiled milk and only further hinder the future. Might as well sell that cow off and get a Titanic level haul because he's going to be asking to be traded if they have to rebuild, which at this point looks likely.
Sell anyone over 30. Let the young take over. Not winning anything this year anyway so let's give the future experience.
