If I was Shesterkin, despite the money I will be getting on my next contract, I would feel a bit ripped off. I honestly have to admit that I don't watch Rangers' games, but if you invest this much money into one player, your objective as a GM shouldn't be to tank. The Trouba and Kakko trades look like those of a tanking team trying to get draft picks for a rebuild while dumping contracts (especially Trouba's). The only players they got are borderline NHLers, so the actualy help may at best come 2 years after the respective drafts. Drury should be in win-now mode and assess the situation to try to put this team back on track, rather than blow it up and pile up middle draft picks from 2026. I guess Shesterkin won't be so amused.
Drury ruined the confidence and trust towards management, and the change of style on defense is on the coaching staff. Switching back to the old successful receipie could be an option, or maybe unfortunately for him, fire Laviolette and get a new voice. Drury should be next in line for what he did to the team's morale and trust.
Looks good on New York. The arrogance of the team, its management, and fans like this YouTuber is manifesting into the shitty team they have. Whine whine whine. 😢
I think they way they handled Goodrow during the off season (who performer well during playoffs) sent the wrong message and the team never mentally recovered from it. This seems to me like a GM problem. Either not clearly communicating expectations or simply using the carrot and the stick at the wrong time
i made a video on the Rangers needing to rebuild or reboot the roster two weeks ago. People called me stupid and crazy. The Rangers will be fine. Fine? Even the other hockey experts still believe the Rangers are a top contender. Our friend here knows the issues. Great job.
Have you ever had a job where you and most of your co-workers believe management didn't believe in the operation? I have, and as a professional I went to work and did my job, but only my job. Everyone's productivity was much lower than when we felt our efforts, especially maximum efforts were appreciated. So now the Rangers are in a loop where their play justifies management's criticisms and management's response further demoralizes the team, resulting in a result which justifies the management's … and so on. Very difficult situation to correct.

Trouba to the Ducks? Why didn't Buffalo, Vancouver, or Pittsburgh go for him, being that they have great attacks, but are struggling defensively.

I think Laviolette is a bad influence in the locker room.
Hasn't this happened before with Laviolette teams?
Players underperform and the needed change/boost/fix does not come.
Shesterkin and his contract.
Anddddd there goes Kakko, lmao
NY is done, the no cup dynasty is done, maybe rebuild this time instead of speedrunning it lol

They have now also traded Kakko, one of the few players who has been producing in accordance with his salary and ice time
Their biggest weakness is defense so drury’s solution is to trade his best d man 😂
@espn Hire this man!! His Analysis and breakdown of hockey is incredible! Great Work bro!
So basically the GM screwed up
takes the heat of dubas for awhile lol
Spend more time chasing than being chased is not a winning strategy. Kreider is ruining my hockey pool.

Looong way to go
Schadenfreude; Noun
To derive pleasure from another's suffering.
"Seeing the Rangers fans suffer like we used to gives me such Schadenfreude!"
Avery for GM!!!!!!
When your team is so bad, that a 9 minute video is made about the team that loses to them. – Me, a Preds fan
And to think there was a debate on who to take with the first pick in 2019 Jack Hughes or Kakko
Couldn't have happened to a more deserving team.
All the teams in New York seem to be hurting right now.
The Laviolette effect
Good.
