The wingers/centers played better, but our defense …sucks. Where was defense while Woll was being pummeled? Did you see Woll's jersey? It was covered in puck marks. This is not a cup contender's defense, this is keystone cops' defense.

I think it might be a different era of hockey in that skilled players are choosing quality over quantity regarding the shot count. This may change for playoff hockey however, where getting the puck on the net and getting down and dirty is massively important. Either way, I’m not as concerned as I was a few weeks ago, they seem to be getting the job done. I’m more concerned at them starting the game too late these days and allowing the first goal. But hey, I’m British, never played hockey and spend most of my time horizontal on the ice when I do go out so what do I know.

I think what makes this years team different is that now were are getting secondary scoring. The core for don't have to do all the scoring.
Screw the “wam” line… can’t have a line without at least one person who throws the body and gets tough.. Willy mitchy and Auston are great but they’re soft.
I’m ok with the process, they are way better defensively and with everyone healthy this team will be hard to beat- Dallas is a beast at home and couldn’t beat the Leafs

I have to disagree with your assessment of this game specifically. Yes the Leafs got outshot, but they really shut down Dallas in the 2nd and most of the third. Most of Dallas' shots were not dangerous in that span as well. I would prefer the shots be closer but the game was pretty good overall.

If they can win when playing like this, imagine when they get it all together and play their best game. Hopefully this is what the coach is working on. He knows you can’t play 82 games and be your best every game. But if can win playing like this and then have your best games at the end of the regular season. Think of Boston a few years back best season ever! Did they win the cup? No! We will see if this will work, but after watching them before they won the cup in 1967, I hope this is the year. Go Leafs Go!
