Once again, everybody played a great game but Dach and Newhook… What the hell Hughes saw in those guys?
1 man has lifted this team.LAINE 8 goals in 9 games after coming back from a knee injury and as we all know knee injuries are hard to come back from quickly the addition of a better journeyman defenseman helps… how much it's hard to tell at this point we still need bigger defenseman who can move the puck out of the zone on a consistent basis. Kirby Doc is slow to come back from his knee injury and he is basically a shadow of what he was hopefully a psychologist can help him get over fear of damaging it again I speak from experience. Having consistent goaltending along with Patrick Laney have truly been the major factor propelling the Canadians to 3 wins in a row. But they will have to have a bigger winning streak to have a chance to get into the playoffs. Their defense must play over their heads and getting the puck out and all of the forwards must start to contribute on a regular basis and not just Patrik Laine. One more trade for a big mobile defenseman must be made if we are to have a chance of getting to the playoffs and it is not impossible remember the four big defenseman who got us to the Stanley Cup Final. Scoring wins games defense wins championships.
Whole team played great tonight. Dach still worries me, he still looks lost / behind even though the team is on an upswing in tempo.
