The Canes haven’t allowed a power play goal in the month of December. The star players failed 5v5. That’s the concern. Also can we stop scratching Vesey and Jones already?

really frustrating how this coaching staff caters to the vets even when they arent getting it done. berard looked good on the pp in his first 2 games. why cant he get back on? if they go through a retool/build wtvr they need a fresh HC.

I want Mika off this team as soon as possible. He is awful in every way. How can a player's skill fall off a cliff in one season? The worst part is he has seemed miserable for a few years now.
Why is Edstrom getting the least ice time of any player every game? He's earned more ice time.
This season is over. They're not making the playoffs. They should rebuild, but Dolan doesn't have the stomach for that, nor could Drury properly execute it.
Why is Mika still playing?
I've been defending Drury until recently because I thought that his results – two ECFs in three years – spoke for itself, despite being short of a Stanley Cup. But the evidence has been mounting that he has steered this ship into an iceberg. Vincent Mercogliano wrote a piece a few days ago about organization-wide unhappiness and dysfunction, and it was eye-opening and very concerning. But hockey-wise, his mistakes have really accumulated. The Buch trade, Mika's contract, the failure to develop several top draft picks, the trade deadline miscalculations, his idiotic handling of Goodrow and Trouba, that ridiculous memo to the league….it's not good. I think the team managed to succeed on the ice for three seasons despite Drury, not because of him.
Rapunzel should just retire. Doesn't look like he wants to play. Vision's of records scratching in his head. Kreider too. They need an intervention. Maybe a trip to St. Patrick's Cathedral. Pray a little penance and get a blessing from Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan. The Good Dolan. Cuylle for Captain, as well as 1st line PP, and instead of Lafreniere when they put a 6th skater on.

It's not just the PP that was off. When the Canes got the puck in the OZ, they won the board battles and kept it there. The Rangers, once again, were one-and-done.

Zibanejad needs to take a leave of absence. Kreider might actually be playing injured? The 1PP needs a make over! DC Housley needs to go. Hopefully Miller gets traded after the roster freeze.
They worked hard last game so the stars can take the next 5 games off.
When the second PP unit started the last PP, it looked infinitly better. Maybe swap out Smith for Bread tho, or maybe just let Fil drive the play.

I know Rangers fans want to defend Kreider, all time Ranger blah blah blah, the guy is not a leader, never defends his teammates, never fights, never throws a big hit, plays soft. The Rangers top players are all soft, Kreider, Zibanajed and Fox should all be traded if possible, get rid of Lafrenier too, he is a bust never lived up to being drafted so high, not 1 of the Rangers high draft picks amounted to anything, Laffy, Kakko, Chytil, Kravtosov, Lias Anderson, Othmann, etc all busts. this team is garbage.
Of course it’s Cardio Jack with his 1st PP goal of the season against us. Mika has completely fallen off a cliff just terrible. Plenty of blame to go around. And we have to depend on Drury to make the right trades to fix this mess?
Last season the No Quit in NY Rangers were just that. They had an incredible number of come from behind wins. This season once they are trailing , you might as well take the dog for a long walk because the game is over. And it’s happening nearly every game ….they also can’t hold a lead anymore either. As for the power play , you can’t have Mika and Bread on the same unit when they are both looking for one timers. There also seems to be no attempt whatsoever to get the puck to the net for a Kreider deflection. I thought Lavi was better than Gallant because he had a reputation for making adjustments in game….where that is this season I have no idea.
Couldn’t agree with you about this core especially Mika and Kreider over the last few years I can’t remember when either one of them took a hit to make a play or battled for a puck in the corner. Kreider might be the softest power forward in the league. The only time I wanna see the two of them together is on the pk. There’s no heart no life in both of these guys.. they both need to go time a culture change in the room.

I know the popular opinion is to put Laf on PP1 for Zib but my opinion is that Chytil needs to be on it because of his shoot first mentality
Mika’s one timer was so much of a staple of the PP but now it’s become such a detriment that the first unit still insists on getting it to him.
Chytil needs to be lined up on one side and have Panarin lined up on the other and force that unit to be in positions to shoot.
Their PK is great but when you can barely score 5 on 5 goals then play nearly 20% of the game a man down, it's not doing you any favors. The first 5 mins of the game was best I've seen in a while, going to the net, creating chances, playing fast. They had 6 shots on goal with 10 mins to go in the 1st, awesome, but with 10 mins to go in the 2nd, they still had 6 shots on goal – they just stopped shooting, stopped going to the net, stopped creating chances. I was at this game and it was a new kind of frustration, being so thrilled with their hot start, only to be let disappointed by how their play progressed. Canes took control of the game completely.
That suspension was way over board .but when he comes back dont ever do that again hit them head on .and dont drop the gloves so often. In other words stay out of the box .
