  1. No way is that a major. If you "have" to call a penalty there, then call a 2 minute boarding penalty.

I mean what do you expect the Bruins forechecker to do there? There was no icing on the play so you expect him to give up positioning there and let the Capitals gain possession to avoid the contact altogether?

  2. Bullshit call as usual. Guy had time to put his hands up and stop himself from hitting the boards. 🤨

  3. In reality, he was about 9 feet away from the boards bottom of the face off circle not even close to a penalty never mind the major

  4. It's the shove while he was trying to stop far from the boards. Very dangerous play that can break their neck without needing a lot of force applied.

  5. "Not a hit on the numbers but he hit em hahd from behind". Boston loves their homer announcers

  6. Fehervary hit the brakes and tried to lean on Wahlstrom. Wrong spot to hit the brakes. Didnt work out very well. Shoulda been 2 minutes at the most.

  7. Not a penalty at all. Now I hate Boston a lot, but the defender was stopping… Whalstrom kept going… it wasn't a hit or push… defender caught an edge.

  8. Ticks all the boxes according to the NHL's publicly available definitions of boarding. Weird, but an appropriate call.

  9. Boston fan here. Its a major. Dangerous distance from the boards, too much force, too high. That said, if you go frame by frame, Fehervary did use his legs in an awkward way. He played the puck with his foot and after doing so tries to recover and does toe pick. Which is exactly why the rule changed from "into the boards" to "distance from the boards."
Honestly its insane that Fehervary returns to the game at all without injury based on the way his leg bends.

  10. The fact he could glide into the boards after the “hit” proves it is not a super dangerous play.
