  1. I was a fan of the old IHL Toledo Goaldiggers hockey team back in the 70's and 80's. I remember listening to an away game, and they were being blown out so bad the head coach pulled the goalie at the start of the 3rd period. The game wound up like 16-4. Exact details are fuzzy because it was 50 years ago, but the memory remains mostly intact.

  2. He didnt get pulled in time so he pulls his goalies as soon as possible.

  3. This is a new low for the isles. Losing to the sabres is one thing, they had to win at some point but to lose by this margin to this bad of a team is sad.

  4. The Islanders are hard to watch, but having to listen to Butch Goring makes it literally impossible.

  5. HOW MUCH MORE OBVIOUS i mean how much more evidence do you need to realize ROY IS NOT A GOOD NHL COACH HE IS TERRIBLE. Theres a reason he was out of the league for 10 years.

  6. Blues pulled the goalie a few nights back with 9 something left and scored. Didn’t end up winning the game but it can work

  7. It's time to consider contracting the Icelanders from the league. This franchise is abysmal, an absolute embarrassment to the game and irrelevant for over 4 decades now! The league should be cut down to 28 teams, remove the minor league franchises starting with the Icelanders. I have grown to hate this team I loved as a kid!

  8. If you want to make an attempt this is the right move for sure. A lot of research shows that most pull the goalie too late

  9. It didn't work and I would usually think it's a stupid thing to do. But given it's against Buffalo and the way they've been blowing leads and losing games, it was worth a shot to try

  10. Pat’s done this his whole coaching carrer he did it with the Remparts before and after Colorado

  11. Something to consider is that they've already lost the game at this point. It's a way to get some real-world practice of their 6-5.
