  1. He should’ve just fired one of the assistant coaches and put lalonde as assistant coach..

  2. Lalonde played a fairly "safe" style of hockey. We have weapons both in our forward group but our d-corp as well. A more aggressive mentality might suit this roster better. Don't forget McClellan coached when Holmstrom was a fixture on this roster. Hopefully they can get more net front presence (that Mickey has been begging for). We'll see, but I liked him when he was here as an assistant. Bottom line is we needed a change as Lalonde was falling into the same trap as Blashill did (constantly shuffling lines, playing ineffective players over effective ones, etc).

  3. The coaching change is really not going to make that big of a difference. The players are supposed to be professionals so they should know what it takes to win, but they're just not taking it upon themselves to do so.

  4. Now all they have to do is replace 95% of their roster and maybe they will make the playoffs someday. Too little, too late. At least for this year. They should have changed coaches last year after they completely collapsed and blew their lead in the playoff race.

  5. NHL coach experience ✅
    Winning record ✅
    Playoff experience ✅
    Has hair ✅
    Not Lalonde ✅ ✅ ✅

Thank you SY for this gift. Newsy has been trying to dig out of the mud hole for too long. The boys were depressed and directionless. The fans were calling for blood. Message received.

  6. Ruthless 😂😂your you tube videos are ruthless

Todd McClellan is a former redwing assistant coach who has a lot of NHL winning experience and is a good fit for the organization and yzerman knows him well he’s known him since 2006 so this signing and move is abig win hats off to Steve yzerman for this

  7. I say, they move some vets out. Get a couple 2nd/3rds for kane/vlad. Eat some salary on shitrot or holl if you can move them for a higher pick or two. Buy petry out this spring.

  8. It's a gift to the fans that Yzerman didn't wait until the end of the season to dump Lalonde. Anybody with eyes can see that it has been all bad for a while….I still say the roster is just a lot weaker than last year but Lalonde lost his oomph

After watching the last few games, the entire roster can GO except for the youngsters. Hoping Yzerman makes bold moves if veterans continue to blatantly slack

  9. I am glad we have new coach. After the bad trades in off season, hopefully this will get us back to moving in the right direction like last season. We have good players now, better ones last season, but we have a good future roster. I have been thinking sy is just waiting it out for young guys to move up, we as fans cant take that.

  10. newsey has a guaranteed contract. not gonna lose sleep over the timing. should have been fired over last seasons collapse. but they are keeping Yaney. wasn't he in charge of special teams? red wings near the bottom of the league ( second to last) in PK. PP was ranked 11, but the PK was horrible.

  11. Come on Lego, Yzerman ruthless? This had to be in the works for days if not longer. Too many things had to occur to pull off these four moves; Lalonde, Boughner, McLellan, Yawney. It didn’t all happen on Dec 26th, it was announced today.

  12. Far too many Wings casually skating by checks and just giving low effort. The Wings need more aggression, more physicality and more acountability.
I cant wait to see the Edvinson/ASP pairing. Wings should get a sturdy, physical defensively responsible LD to play with Seider and make the Edvinson/ASP pairing happen.

  13. I like McLellan over Lalonde but he really underachieving with elite talent in San Jose. That being said, I also acknowledge that we could see a Paul Maurice type of resurgence with the Wings. We'll see what happens. I'm gonna be optimistic about this.

  14. Thank you so much for this amazing video! Could you help me with something unrelated: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?

  15. Because yzerman is comfortable with mclellan having mclellan as ass't coach his final season under babs and needed a coach with experience this hire. No more ahl caliber coaches for wings. Bye Bye uncle fester. And yzerman ruthless-this firing was way overdue. Maybe kane and cat will pay attention to some d now. Look for another yzerman move in trade by tdl.

  16. I am happy about the change but when push comes to shove , the gm is the one who assembled this team. We have many d line 3rd liners (at best) and many bad contracts. We have a few gems but if this was any other gm , they would have been fired.

  17. I have been waiting for this since last year.. hopefully the Toddfather delivers!

  18. I think this is potentially a good thing, but the bigger issue is still the egregious lack of blue line depth. Seider and Edvinsson are next level awesome, but they don't have any legitimate second pair player. Nothing even close. I think that hurts them even more than the disappointing seasons from Kane, Tarasenko, and Compher.
