Great game for Mitch and Johnny. Marner can definitely score 40 goals a year if he shoots more; what a deflection for the hat trick goal.

well lol Todd McLellan got a perfect snapshot of the team tonight.
The Good? The Kane/Cat/Copp line. In fact, Kane/Cat with either Copp or Larkin at any time = good. Kane and Cat's analytics were hilariously perfect.
The Bad? Literally pretty much everything else.
McLellan got to immediately see what SOME of us have seen all year. Raymond/Larkin winning corsi but giving up a ton of goals bc they're lazy and out of position and being outscored by a million. Raymond/Larkin picking up empty irrelevant points on the power play late in a blowout loss so that homer fans will cite their numbers as evidence of how they're the only players on the team who are any good this year or trying at all or not huge disappointments or who are worth their salaries. Seider refusing to pass to Kane on the power play, going to Raymond's side every single time, or shooting rather than pass to Kane. Petry and Chiarot lost. Terrible penalties. Young forwards lost on defense. Sloppy passing and receiving and handling of passes even from the good players.
It's good they played how they did tonight, bc it told no lies. Everything tonight was representative and hopefully McLellan and Yawney saw it with clear eyes and a clear mind. I was already immediately encouraged by Lucas and Dylan basically not being on the penalty kill at all. They were on there entirely as a case of Derek Lalonde playing favorites, he had them out there to try to break out and play offense on the PK. It was insane. So at least for one night that much is over, maybe. We'll see where we go from here and find out pretty quickly how good McLellan is at correctly judging what he sees, wo bias for or against any of the particular players involved.
Talbot needs to retire
The only negative is Woll losing the shutout. He played a solid game.
Canada's team destroyed the Red Wings! And our rivals, the Bruins lost. Tonight is a good night to be a Leafs fan!
Yzerman should've have been the one fired for putting this sh-t roster together. He's been a horrible GM since coming here but gets no accountability and the coaches take the fall. I feel sorry for Todd McClellan for inheriting this sh-tty roster

5 goals on 21 shots. This is rock bottom. I lived through the 70s and early 80s bad Wings teams. This is about as bad as it gets.

After making the playoffs for 20+ years, the Red Wings deserve a long break from the postseason.
