Im happy that we won, but now my issue is that i was watching the game on my phone and went in my shower right when montreal scored the two quick goals to win the game …. And now im Wondering if im supposed to sit in my shower every time they play
Carrier's arrival allowed Guhle to play on his natural side. What a difference that made. The Habs' defense right now looks like a completed jigsaw puzzle.
Wrote Dach off for the entire season due to last year injury/surgery and necessary recovery, so glad to see his confidence improving again. Happy New Year!!!
A friend of mine texted me after the first to tell me the blowout had begun. He predicted 7-2 Vegas. I agreed the 2 goals hurt especially the second to cap off the period BUT told him it was still early. Man on man was the rest of the game fun for us Habs fans!! A lot of things changed from the beginning of the season. For starters they got Laine back from injury. 2, they traded a struggling Right D for a reliable Right D which also allowed Guhle to play on his natural side. They stopped using Primeau and Montembeault has been solid since making team Canada. Evens has been playing with confidence and is on fire right now. Everyone is surprised by Heineman. I'm not. I was calling to give Ylonen's spot to Heineman last season. Didn't happen. Better late than never. They also gave Hutson more ice time since the beginning of the season. This team is playing on all cylinders..
You said we deserved this win. WE DO! Fans pay money to watch hockey. Molson and Co. sold us on a rebuild and we embraced it. Fans cheered the Habs at the end of the season even when they were one of the worst teams of the NHL. We were patient. This road trip is a little gift for us being patient. Last night after the win, I couldn't stop grinning. Panthers, Lightning and now Golden Knights. All beat on their home ice. And the Habs didn't get "lucky". They played well and deserved all 3 wins.
There's still a lot of hockey to come and who knows where the Habs go from here but let me say, it has been YEARS since we've seen them play such a good stretch against good teams. I was expecting them to struggle and I was pleasantly surprised by these last 3 wins. Moving forward anything is possible. They might lose 20 in a row but for the foreseeable future, I believe they have the players and mentality to beat any team they face. That is what I have been waiting for since they started the rebuild and this makes watching the Habs fun again.
Habby New Year, Drew. Nice to see you back in the chair.
When the VGK went up by 2, I just went "ah crap" but I took comfort in the fact that Montreal had a lot of good chances in the first and, frankly, I thought they had outplayed Vegas – not by a wide margin but the boys had looked good in that first period and I was confident that Montreal wasn't out of it. I will say though, that if they hadn't played so spectacularly in FLA as they did, I wouldn't have been confident.
I haven't been this confident in a Montreal team since the 2021 run to the SCF.
Dobes wasn't really challenged. We aren't giving up many good scoring chances and are not caught running around our own end chasing the puck. Maybe we should try to convince the league to let us wear our white sweaters at home

If we beat Colorado after Chicago, we will have beaten the past 4 Stanley Cup winners. Florida, Tampa Bay, Vegas, Colorado. WOW!
Kirby Dach IS NOT a flop!
l'm happy for him too,
Drew!
Montreal is my favourite team now.

Happy New Year 2025
All those who have been screaming for the Habs to trade Kirby are now silently eating crow for New Year's.
Slaf created Cole's goal.
not gonna lie, did not predict 3 huge wins… on to colorado!
Don't get over confident. Let's see what they do against Chicago? Chicago will be ready for Montreal. They will be fired up for them.

503 points. So we're mathematically still alive? You're telling me there's a chance.
That’s my son out there!!
Can they still make the playoffs? Or it’s too late ?
Go Oilers
