We didn't win the Jrs 1998 to 2004 either…these things go in cycles. Literally won 2 years ago and our best players are in the NHL. Disappointing but we shot ourselves in the foot more than lost a best on best.

World juniors, who cares? Just another overhyped tournament constructed and built up because of money. It didn`t mean anything to anyone before but clearly someone sniffed money to be made so here we are.

I wouldn't put too much emphasis on what happens at the World Juniors. Leaf prospect Justin Pogge was the goal tender of a team that won gold, and Leaf management decided they could part ways with Tukka Rask (who was a higher draft pick). As I recall, that didn't work out too well. Easton Cowan needs some adversity in order to develope character. Maybe he will work out, maybe not. The Leafs have a habit of giving up on young players who go on to have impact careers on other teams. Kyle Dubas made some terrible trades and cost the Leafs players like Sandin, Marchment and Jarvis. We need to have patience.
