The Canucks should also trade pylon Myers. They should trade Petterson as they would get more for him.

I like the idea of Dobson as the main part of the return, but it would depend on his contract demands. Vancouver would need him at a reasonable cap hit longterm.

Why are you guys still talking about the Pettersson Miller thing? There has been no new news for months. Just people talking about what happen years ago. Since that time period Miller and Pettersson played great together. Everything else is just click bait manufactured drama.
Canucks will trade Petey, regret it, but its fine.. until their next star falls out with JT in 2-3 years and ship him off aswell

As an Islanders fan I say stick with the team as is. No crazy trades! Especially dont give away a great defenseman in Dobson. No trades! This is a solid team that has to score more goals, imo.

GM's obsess over making the playoffs b/c that equals job security. But the goal should be to not just get there but to win it, no? So, the question begs: Is Pettersson a player you win a cup with? Recent cup winners FLA, COL, TBL all had their best players leading the way. All extremely competitive and hate to lose. Does that describe Petey?

His only problem is a too huge contract
Nobody would even talk about this issue if his paycheck would be around 6 million .

Elias would be a great fit for NYI…if they keep Pageau, Horvat and Nelson there to help assist Pettersson at faceoffs and physicality. Barzal and a sweetener for Pettersson makes the most sense.

We either trade Miller, Hoglander and either a 2nd round pick or a prospect like D-Petey or Sasson (Lekkermaki and Willander are off the table, period) to Buffalo for Byram and Cozens… or we keep them both and hope they find that zone they were in together the last 2 seasons.

Every time I watch, I’m left feeling more motivated. The way you break things down makes even the toughest ideas seem achievable.
I don't see at this point in Vancouver how you trade one and keep the other without causing at least short term problems amongst this fanbase for the other.
Trade them both. Revamp this team. Because the fans seem split almost evenly on which guy they support. Therefore the pressures on the remaining guy will increase significantly.
